House of Ashes Theme Week Coming Soon!
(graphics by the talented @thewolfmanny )
Howdy, beautiful people of HoA fandom! We (that is, me, @the-girl-who-flies and several of my horny jail cellmates accomplices) thought it would be a fun idea to run a community-wide event (a là Big Bang and Reverse Big Bang) that all creators can participate in; to start off with something that doesn’t require too heavy a commitment, we decided to propose a House of Ashes Theme Week! This is going to be a one week event where each day will have a one-word prompt; on this day, you will be able to submit your creations based on said prompt, be they fics or art.
To make this a bit more participative (and maybe see how many people would actually like to be part of this kind of thing) we thought we’d ask everyone to pitch in with prompt ideas. You can send them either as an Ask on this Tumblr or email them to [email protected]. If you send them as an Ask, we'll publish them, giving everyone a chance to get an idea of what kind of thing might be in store for them.
On March the 15th - that is, one week from now - we’ll pick 7 prompts at random and announce them. HoA Theme Week itself will begin on Monday, March 28th, which hopefully will give everyone who wants to participate a chance to create something.
I’ll add a small FAQ below while we get all the other parts of this blog up and running, and ask you to check back and spread the word/reblog - both this tumblr and the event are just a tiny baby bird right now and there’s a slight chance the admin might not have a clue about what they’re doing but we’re hoping it’ll grow into something that everyone likes.
MiniFAQ:
What exactly is a theme week?
It’s an event where artists and writers make creations based on prompts, and post/submit them on the days that correspond to said prompts.
Do I have to register to participate?
No registration will be necessary, anyone who wants to participate can do so.
Do I have to commit to the entire week?
Absolutely not! You can post as many submissions as you like, for as many of the days of Theme Week as you like.
How will I be able to submit my creation?
Use the submit function to: either submit a post or send us a link to your own tumblr post so we can reblog. Don’t forget to tag your post #hoathemeweek so it’s easier to find!
What kind of fanwork will I be able to submit?
Any genre (fics, digital art, traditional, vids, collages, etc) is good, as long as it’s something that can be posted.
Are NSFW submissions accepted?
Honestly, being the happy bunch of horny feral rats that we are, we're looking forward to any kind of smut/erotica/porn. We only ask that 1) you tag responsibly 2) if your art is nsfw, post it with a preview, and hide the full view under the cut/read more. Alternatively, you can put it up on a different platform and simply link it in your Tumblr post.
What are you going to do with all the fan works submitted for this event?
Reblog them, tag them, and link to them in a single post so they can be displayed for everyone's viewing/reading/listening pleasure.
Can I make a suggestion?
Yes, you can. I'm personally new at this, so all constructive input regarding the organization of this event is welcome. Feel free to use the Ask for any suggestions or questions (which we'll probably add to the FAQ).
Anything else I should know?
A few more things to come, stay tuned.
And please, send your one word prompts! We look forward to reading them.
Anyone remember my au of HoA and The Quarry being connected via Dylan being Salim and Jason’s grandson? No? Well that sucks, anyways I drew a family photo of them!
Dylan is Zain’s son. Zain and Dylan’s mom met when Zain went to London for college, and they were originally just a hook up, but uh oh Dylan exists. For a while they stayed together (not romantically just in general) to co-parent Dylan, but at some point they kind of just fell in love and got married when Dylan was five. And yes, Dylan is very white passing.
Also yes that fucking creature of a toddler is just a baby vampire. It has to do with my weird au canon stuff, do not mind it.
(From left to right, it’s Salim, Jason, Dylan, Zain, and Dylan’s mom and younger sister, which neither have names yet.)
HOUSE OF ASHES THEME WEEK: OFFICIAL GUIDELINES
The prompts are in, the pressure is on... Anyway, here's all you need to know, and if there's something that isn't here, feel free to ask away!
OFFICIAL PROMPT LIST:
Monday 28th - Domesticity
Tuesday 29th - Striptease
Wednesday 30th - Insecurities
Thursday 31st - Venomous
Friday 1st - Hands
Saturday 2nd - Tradition
Sunday 3rd - Spa
On submitting fanfiction: If you’re posting via Tumblr - include #hoathemeweek in your tags, as well as the prompt, followed by the day of the week and the date (e.g. #DomesticityMonday28th). You can also include the latter in the title or the body of your post, if you like. If you’re posting via AO3 - essentially the same as above in regards to the tags. Including the prompt in the title or the notes would also be appreciated (but not required). Additionally, you can submit your fic to the official HoA Theme Week collection here. On submitting fanart: Exactly the same as for fanfiction when posting via Tumblr, with the added note that if you’re submitting nsfw material you 1)tag appropriately (you don’t need to tag it #nsfw as that will essentially hide it from all tumblr searches, but do make sure viewers know what they’re in for) 2) hide the fullview under the readmore line, or alternatively, post the full art on another platform and link the fullview in your tumblr post. On submitting other types of fanworks (music videos, collages, playlists, etc.): Pretty much the same thing, honestly, tag it as #hoathemeweek and the corresponding prompt & day, either embed it directly into your tumblr post or link to it from wherever you put it up and voilá! On all of these: Once you’ve done the previously described steps for the type of fanwork you’re posting, use the submit function on this blog to send it to us! I recommend posting it on your own tumblr and submitting to us a post with a link, so we can reblog the original. However, if you’ve only posted on AO3 (or another platform), you don’t need to create a dedicated tumblr post (or even a dedicated tumblr) to submit, you can simply link to it in your submission (just don’t forget to tick the appropriate tags). However, if you’re submitting as a non-tumblr user, remember to include a working email and, preferably, a username on whatever platform you’re using to submit your creation so you can be credited appropriately. When to submit: Ideally, on the day of the prompt. But if you do it later in the week, don’t worry, that’s still ok. Just tag it with the corresponding prompt + day. What NOT to submit: I’m going to make an assumption that most of the lovely people in this fandom have common sense and just want to have fun. In case there are those who don’t, here is a simple guideline:
Don’t submit anything that is offensive just for the sake of offending (content with adult/dark themes is fine, just tag it appropriately).
Don’t spam the submission box (by spamming I mean sending the same thing over and over again. If you’ve got several fanworks, by all means, send them as separate submissions).
Don’t submit things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand (aka. House of Ashes Theme Week, its prompts, the House of Ashes fandom).
If that’s all good with you, good luck and have fun!

What is House of Anubis to me?
I started watching House of Anubis to join a roleplay about it. Interestingly enough the rp never happened, but I was hooked. I knew the acting was poor. The sets were poor. The writing was atrocious, but the story. Well the story was my favorite thing. After watching the first 5 episodes to catch up, I had a dream about a girl running from her caretaker who wanted to lock her up. This dream evolved into my book "To Know the Truth" which is no nothing like House of Anubis but at one point was the show exactly. I watched the show, but I never knew anyone else who did. It was kinda just my thing. Whenever I decided to rewrite "To Know the Truth" I'd binge watch Hoa for inspiration. That was my relationship with the show throughout its time on air. I watched every episode 2 or 3 times, even the third season which proves you can't continue a show after losing the main character. Then exactly a year ago I was bored and had a snow day. There was a House of Anubis fan fic I'd started a year or so before but never finished. HOA had been over for 6 monthd, but the fic plot would not leave my mind. So, I caved. I wrote the fic in 3 days 27,000 words and all. I got 16 reviews from 2 people. That was the most I'd ever gotten. Encouraged, I began a prequel to that fic which doubled as a season 4 fic. After that got over 170 reviews I continued creating a 4 part saga. (That eventually was placed in an AU from the fic that had started it all.) In 6 months I'd made tons of friends, begun to believe I was a good writer, and wrote 150,000 words of fan fic for a show I'd always just been a casual viewer of. I stopped writing Hoa at that point, but I quickly missed my friends in the HOA fandom and began a new story. Even after my break for NANOWRIMO I returned to write HOA fan fic. I know this is long so I'll sum it up. I loved the plot to House of anubis, but it's the fandom, not the show that changed my life and for that I'm greatful. I'm very grateful that 4 years ago Nickelodeon made an English version of a famous Dutch/German show.

5. Your Favorite friendship.
Ok, so I could not tell which of the two friends I liked, so I decided on both. Namber is very sweet is the typical friendship and Joytricia just how Patricia was worried about her friend shows how big this friendship.
Fandom of where they got the new photos of hoa?
seriously though the fandom hasn't been this lively since like the s2 finale
