We have sort of had this event before, it’s just written differently to obfuscate it.
Hideyoshi was marching his whole army against the Hojo’s stronghold in Odawara, and demands the Date to join. Because the Date did really have an alliance with Hojo in Terumune’s day, they waffled for a long time before finally Masamune was convinced to go to the Toyotomi.
The famous story says that Masamune came to meet Hideyoshi all dressed in white, preparing to die, and Hideyoshi pardoned him. Masamune also expressed his desire to learn tea ceremony under Sen no Rikyu, which flattered Hideyoshi.
The past event (I believe it was called Bride’s Memory) focused on the tension and the pressure coming from the daunting massive Toyotomi army. This current event had the threat come from the Hojo side (which is not historical).
Also, I frequently criticize that the writing is inconsistent, and these two events shows it. In the older event, Hideyoshi was imposing and somewhat threatening, displaying an almost Nobunaga-like personality. In the current event he’s his “normal” friendly self, even offering assistance to the Date to fend off the Hojo:
