That site was great! I am 100% new to tarot, or was I suppose. I spent a lot of time researching history last night to dispel many of the misconceptions I seem to have picked up from religion and media over the years. As for specific guidance, I don't think I'll be ready to read for anyone else for a while. Do you have any tips for reading for oneself? Is there anything you do (meditate, aromatherapy, candles) to prepare yourself or create a good headspace before beginning a reading?
I actually don't read for myself often anymore. I'm a really emotional person and I've found that when reading for myself, it completely clouds the reading. I have that issue if I have readings for others and I'm having a bad day, too =/
When I read in general, though, I light some incense and take a few deep breaths, wiggle around a little, stretch, then get myself all set up. I usually burn some sort of cleansing incense (frankincense is my favorite). Apart from that, there's not much else I do! At this point everything is so second nature that it's hard for me to describe. Every reader has a different process though, and mine is heavily tied to how lazy I am. If I' having a good day, I will clean whatever room I'm doing them in, then cleanse it, then do the readings but if it's a crappy one, it's just incense.
I do recommend having healthy snacks and water on hand! I get the munchies something fierce when I do multiple readings!
