Oh boy DO I EVER!!!! I'm probably missing some of my faves, but here's some off the top of my head:

1 - The Road Back To You by tropebreaker

Almost finished, just waiting for the finale. Fake dating mixed with a road trip. Non-despair AU. Very fun banter between Hajime and Komaeda and it's just kind of sweet and makes me smile

2 - i can't take you anywhere by dimolto

Non-despair au, but it takes place during their time in HPA. ANOTHER road trip AU. I guess I just like these a lot for some reason? Anyway, this one leans much more into the "enemies to lovers", it's really good. Again, great banter, solid characterization, fun things happen to them on this road trip

3 - glitch house by k0mat0se

This one is a series with several works! Post-canon komahina with a theme of summer. The ending breaks my heart but it's okay

4 - grab the rings of saturn by plantegg

Post-canon! Komaeda takes up gardening. Hajime's there too, I guess. KIDDING LOL this one captures their dynamic really well and actually inspired me to adopt Komaeda taking up gardening in my own post-canon stuff

5 - Lucky Stars by Kimium

Honestly, I'd recommend ANY of kimium's komahina stuff, but this one's one of my faves. Komaeda keeps having nightmares, and Hajime offers a distraction to help him out. It's sweet

6 - Saltwater Saline, Stains the Teeth by coinfliphearts

Another post-canon series with multiple works! These touch on Komaeda's experiences with lymphoma, and him and Hajime navigating that together. It shows off Komaeda's illnesses in a way I have never seen before, and it's really something special

7 - Like A Flower Fading by Sweet_Silver

Ongoing! This one features an addition to the killing game that forces Hajime and Komaeda into....well. Let's just say much deeper intimacy than either of them want. But, that's not all this fic has to offer! There's a lot of really good character and dynamic exploration here. It isn't finished, but I have no doubt the landing will be stuck perfectly

8 - Bad Poetry of a Lopsided Heart by grimlealls

THIS ONE IS LIKE MY WHITE WHALE OKAY. OK. So. Deep breath. This one takes place in SDR2 during the killing game. Komaeda, in this story, has a habit of writing letters that go unsent. However, one accidentally gets delivered to Hajime because it was addressed to him. It is obviously a love letter, but since it's unsigned, Hajime doesn't know who it's from. Top that off with the killing game, and you've got some grade A shenanigans. The issue? IT'S UNFINISHED 😭 I STARTED FOLLOWING THIS IN 2016 WHEN IT WAS PUBLISHED. THE LAST UPDATE WAS 2018. THERE IS ONE CHAPTER LEFT. IT WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE FINISHED. I'm still recommending it anyway because the concept is KILLER but just mentally prepare yourself for that

9 - One Step Back, Two Steps Forward by TheStoryCrafter

Yes I'm putting one of my own fics in the rec list. I've told you guys I'm full of myself. Also it's my list I can do what I want. Also, I figured I'd give you at least one shorter recommendation LOL. This is one of my many post-canon komahina fics, with them decorating Christmas cookies together! 😇

As we know post-canon Komahina is always good but I was curious if there are other settings for Komahina that you're particularly into? Like any AU or specific timeline for whatever reason, since I also feel like the interesting part about this is the way the dynamic between the two can shift a lot based on where and how it would be set

Aside from post-canon and NWP-era komahina, I am very fond of the AU where they knew each other at Hope's Peak, but Hajime STILL undergoes the project

I actually have a lot of thoughts on how HPA-era komahina would be—or, rather, how it wouldn't be. I feel like people make Komaeda way too mean to Hajime wrt to him being a Reserve Course student when Komaeda's vitriol toward Hajime was based on a very specific scenario (namely, SDR2 and esp chapter 4's whole thing and what Komaeda finds out). Trying to apply that to a Komaeda in Hope's Peak has always felt strange to me, since they are in completely different environments, and Komaeda is someone very influenced by his environment. Not to say Komaeda wouldn't be insensitive, but he wouldn't outright bully Hajime, I think. He's just not the type

Anyway, all that to say, wouldn't it be awesome and fucked up if Komaeda's attitude toward the Reserve Course inadvertently pushed Hajime to undergo the Kamukura Project? It's esp tragic if Komaeda actually did quite like Hajime on a personal level, and he just found it ridiculous that Hajime believed he could become a symbol of hope on the level of someone talented. It's very fun to think about

Somewhat on that note, I also like kamukoma a good amount, aka despair komahina. I have a very specific idea in my head of Komaeda not liking Kamukura, really, because to Komaeda he is kind of blasphemous. Like, at first, he'd be really interested and excited at the prospect of someone who is so talented, but if he found out HOW Kamukura got that talent—on top of the fact that Kamukura does nothing WITH this talent—I think Komaeda would grow frustrated and not really fuck with him. That's just my fun idea, though

I also really like mastermind komahina! I don't have as many thoughts on that AU I just like it. It makes me smile 😇
