That knowledge didn’t bring Adam’s heartrate back to his baseline, though. His nerves still felt frayed and oversensitive, like a fresh papercut. He just kept picturing Ben alone in a car, his blood staining the snow.

for fanfic asks - 1 and 8!

1. What is your most popular fic?

there are two possible answers to this! one is Fill Me With Your Poison, which is a Venom fic, and which is my most kudos'd work. but honestly it only really took off because of the timing (i published it at the height of the film's popularity), so its popularity doesn't really correlate at all with its overall quality lol. i don't think it's bad, but it's not really exceptional in any way.

the other answer is Roses are Red, and Violets are Gay, which is a Red vs Blue fic, and which is the second oldest fic on my account (published on july 7, 2013!), and is my fic with the most hits (and third most kudos). once upon a time, i believe it was one of the top 20 most kudos'd RvB fics on AO3, but it has since fallen to page 4 lol. i published this one just after finishing my first year in undergrad :')

that RvB fic is actually a huge milestone work for me because it's the first time in my life i wrote a story that i thought was actually genuinely funny, and with natural sounding dialogue (i'm still grateful to RvB and to Rooster Teeth in general for honestly teaching me how to write humor). it was a real turning point for me as a writer. i feel like this was when i unlocked the ability to understand character voices. i still think of it as basically my first "good" fic.

8. What kind of document do you use to you write? Microsoft Word? Google Docs? Straight in the AO3 text box?

oh dear, this answer is going to be a little messy 😅. for many years, i wrote all of my stuff in microsoft word. i still have some projects there! but in recent years, i've switched to keeping most of my drafts on google docs because it's easier to access them from multiple devices, including my phone if i think of a great line to add when it's 4am and i'm in bed.

i also draft some stuff in the 4thewords text editor because 4thewords gamifies writing lol so it helps motivate me on some projects. but usually i back up everything i write on there either on word or gdocs. 4thewords is absolutely my favorite platform to use when editing, though, because my current favorite editing strategy is retyping the entire story from scratch, and 4thewords literally rewards me for it.
