I don’t have to imagine, as I know these women exist. I’ve always known this woman, as she is my mother, my grandmother...and she is me.
We all have this woman inside of us. Life experiences may change us and move us away from our Divine feminine energy, but it is inside us all!!
things I’ll tell my wife:
honor the best parts of you
honor the parts of you that you’re still working on
I have this Lauren Fleshman quote thumbtacked above my bed as daily, quiet reminder to honor my body and focus on how much I can do with it. Taylor’s Lesson Four reminded me of this quote.

Nature, yoga, meditation, health, real talk, healing, nurturing food, empowerment and sometimes even my dog or my significant other 💙
Surrounding yourself with positive thoughts from someone with anxiety, depression struggles, body image issues, recovering from an eating disorder makes a difference. Knowing you are not alone helps more than you could imagine. Let’s heal together, let’s support each other, let’s honor all of us 🙏
What I’m doing more of: • eating mindfully • meditating • working out regularly • taking each day in stride • appreciating my body and finding peace in my form • listening to guiding voices who help me understand God and Jesus better • soaking up the sunshine • getting outside as much as possible What I still need to work on improving: • slowing my quickness to anger (fire heart) • staying present and giving each moment quality attention • being less judgmental • curbing stress eating or eating out of boredom • self-doubt and deprecation • practicing hatha more often • discovering the love and energy inside me and radiating it outwards • finding peace amidst the chaos • finding a happy medium between trusting God but also leaning on my own gifts to help create transformative change • not expecting (all of) the world to care as much as I do, instead, going about what I feel is right and enjoying the blessing of solidarity and good community I find along the way // #followthesun #breatheinlove #breatheoutnegativity #lovethyself #appreciationpost #yoga #meditation #morelove #lesshate #radicallove #radicalselflove #radiate #peacefulwarrior #namaste #aloha #honoryourbody #honoryourmind #honoryourtemple
Challenge the Food Police
There's a tiny voice in my head that says "you shouldn't have pie for lunch" and then I remind myself, I can eat whatever I want. Those tiny voices (or sometimes large voices!) in our head are what's referred to as the food police. The food police reinforce those rules that years of dieting have ingrained in our minds. It's important to challenge these thoughts with a firm NO! When I sat down to eat, I noticed that what I really wanted was a slice of natural berry pie. I enjoyed each bite, and was satisfied with that selection without feeling guilty. Afterward, I noticed that hunger was still present so I had some carrots and hummus to have some balance and felt satisfied.
Instead of eating what a diet would deem as a "healthy" lunch, and then eating pie and likely eating more than a slice, I listened to my body upfront and didn't restrict or prevent myself from eating what I wanted. I knew that I would feel better physically if I had a range of foods, so I added a protein and vegetable. It's important to note that this was because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to "make up" for the pie. Had the food police told me I HAD to now only eat vegetables, I likely would have said "screw you" and continued eating more pie. See the difference? Intuitive Eating doesn't mean abandoning health, it's a way to increase both physical and emotional health by tuning in and listening to what your body needs.
