alrighty, i just felt the need to write this because i saw that ask you posted. i was here during the youtube days (late youtube days at that, not that it matters at ALL) and i don't think it matters when someone joins the fandom. the fact is that they joined it. there's no point in talking smack or trying to make newer fans feel bad about WHEN they joined; it's like hating your younger brother/sister because you popped out of the vajayjay first. pretty stupid, right? this is a family. be kind.

and also it's good that there are "newer" fans because tbh the growing fanbase is what makes the band become popular, expand the 5sos fam, AND it's what pays for their living. they make a living from being musicians; fans of any sort essentially fill their paycheck. so without fans the band wouldn't get to do as much and it wouldn't be much of a living. so people need to appreciate all fans, no matter when they joined or where they're from. it's called "5sos fam" for a reason. (sorry for rant!)
the fandom is just afraid of change.

YES oh my god I was listening to my old ipod today and Just The Way You Are came on and I almost burst into tears bc I wasted so much time and energy and emotions on some twat when I was 15 and that was our song and I just hated myself for a bit
