It is crazy to me that there is a cartoon about redemption and forgiving people for their past sins, but the creator didn't regretted, she continues to do the same awful things like she used to did years ago.
Viv’s immaturity is definitely a huge factor as to why the show fails to tackle more complex issues. It throws weak subversions at the audience instead, but after a while, those boulders erode into pebbles.
“Guess what you guys? This big evil person is actually a smol cinnamon roll, and this small nice guy is the real demon!”
Add in something about daddy issues and you just got a sapling of a Vivziepop plot line in your garden.
Just from what I know of Viv through her online activity, she seems very stubborn and incapable of accepting criticism. Convoluted character designs, uninteresting color palettes, ineffective cursing, etc. were all glaring flaws people had with Hazbin’s pilot that were not fixed in the show. That’s not even mentioning her personality.
It wasn’t a perfect show, but The Good Place does Hazbin’s concept better than Hazbin will ever do it. The plot line of the MC’s mom becoming a better mother to her second daughter after the MC passes away is 1000% more interesting than anything I’ve seen from Hazbin.
I mentioned her personality bc is hard to take seriousily for the way she doesn't want to take responsibility of her actions. I also agree, there's other shows better than this.
