How do we encourage multicultural social practice?

I was asked by Gemma-Rose to answer a very difficult question for the blog supporting this year's Open Engagement Conference in NYC. One I'm not full of answers for. The main answers I could think of? To listen and believe. ‪#‎hopelessoptimist‬ Still, the question remains... How do we encourage multicultural social practice?...
