Alright, so it’s been stuck in my head and
I really do like the line “Wish on a scar.”
I know a lot of people thought they misheard or the translation in the video was wrong because they were expecting “wish on a star”. But, the lyrics provided in the download folder by J-hope/BigHit says “wish on a scar.”
It kept playing in my head and at first I was like...that’s kinda funny/odd.
If you think about it, “wish on a star” is a very elusive, fantastical idiom. People “wish on stars” as superstitions, because they have a seemingly impossible desire and only something out-of-reach in the sky can supposedly fulfill that desire, or if you wish for something impossible through something that isn’t real (shooting/falling stars don’t often have anything to do with real stars) you can’t be too disappointed when it doesn’t happen.
On the other hand, wishing on a “scar” is very real. The scar can be a constant, physical, visual reminder of the event. The scar can be an invisible, but very constant, and persistent reminder of an incident. Either way, a “scar” is a lot closer to you and those around you than a “star” up in the sky, in outer space, lightyears away.
I don’t know. Just my thoughts. I’ve been thinking a lot lately (<_<)
