Humans and monsters have always been enemies on Pandora, but there can always be deviations. Some have a burning hate while others have a soft spot for either side.
10/2 Character Question - What is your character’s relationship with humans and monsters alike? What motivates these opinions and can they change?
Rhys is unusual for most demons--and particularly demons of his species--in that his relationship with humans is mostly positive, as he’s lived as one for most of his life with little knowledge of his true parentage (though as he’s aged, he’s begun to suspect something is off).
Most Cambion kill their human parent; as infants they have an uncontrollable magnetism that causes their mortal family to obsessively care for them, often to the point of exhaustion, and many tales tell of them growing unnaturally quickly while their parents waste away. However, when Rhys was growing up, he and his single mother were often separated by her work and he was cared for by sitters and family friends, diluting this effect. He’s still very close to her--but he’s never asked about his father.
As an adult, Rhys became captivated by the anti-monster propaganda of the Hyperion corporation, terrified at the prospect of otherworldly creatures able to manipulate his thoughts and kill with ease. He took a job with them in his early twenties, and has been there ever since.
Though on paper he subscribes to the standard Hyperion “all monsters are scum” party line, the truth is more flexible. His natural disposition, combined with his innate (if unintentional) empathetic skills (passively absorbing the emotions of other beings does leave you with some idea of how they’re feeling) leave him open to changing his mind on a case-by-case basis. Besides this, he’s entirely likely to befriend a few creatures without initially realising what they are.
As his own identity becomes all the more apparent, things are likely to become even more complicated...
CALL FOR HORRORLANDS STARTERS
//Howdy folks! Seeing as I’m new on this scene, I have pretty much no one to write with. I also want my Horrorlands muse Rugaru Jack to meet some of the other inhabitants of the planet... Especially since the high winds will allow him to go out without his glamour on.
So if you wanna write with me, please like this and I’ll get something written up asap. Also if you could pass this around so that others can see it, I would greatly appreciate it! :)
Horrorlands Answer 10/2
10/2 Character Question - What is your character’s relationship with humans and monsters alike? What motivates these opinions and can they change?
Answer: As Jack began his life as a human, he understands how they ‘work’. He also, unfortunately, understands how they taste and how to effectively prepare them as a meal. In terms of monsters, Jack saw them in his purely hunting days as another target. Now he sees certain ones as something to be avoided, his cautions towards fire or their superhuman senses revealing him for what he is being his main motivation.
His opinions toward monsters may change based upon their willingness to help him feed. His opinion toward humans, however, will most likely never change.

v: Horrorlands
Satyrs were usually at the bottom of the food chain. They are born and raised as servants, prostitutes, maids, and what not. No matter how hard they try, they will always stay on the bottom.
Fragtrap was born and raised in a Hyperion base on Helios. As a child, he didn’t quite understand what Hyperion’s treatment on satyrs was but he let it happen as he thought it was normal. His family taught him not to fight back against them and praise them every day. One day, after another beating from oversalting someone’s dish, he snapped.
Fragtrap started a revolution that...well...everyone probably forgot. The satyrs and the Hyperion soldiers fought for days. They couldn’t last like this. One by one, they fell. Hyperion called for a witch hunt against the satyrs. In the following days, every wall was covered in propoganda and hatred. Soon all of Hyperion was brainwashed into killing every last one of the satyrs.
Hyperion was too dangerous for him. He had to leave. And so, he travelled all across the universe and found Pandora.
