What is it about the modern internet that has made searches completely fucking useless? Any website I go on, I type in what I'm looking for, and they all just shit out random content vaguely associated with one of the words I typed while ignoring all the others. What kind of devilish algorithms are at play behind the scenes? I'll type what I'm looking for verbatim, and instead of giving it to me, the search engine will focus on the most clickable and ad-relevant buzzword. Google, youtube, tumblr, twitter, reddit, none of them ever work right, and what bugs me is that they used to! Google used to work perfectly, but now I use it almost exclusively to look up images and find Wikipedia articles because 90% of the search results are sponsored links, quora, and pinterest, which I have only ever interacted with on accident. I have never gone out of my way to use quora or pinterest.
