Um, well.” She cleared her throat. “It involves no fewer than three people with automatic weapons, and at least one with an RPG. And I don’t mean Dungeons and Dragons.” She smiled sheepishly. “Sure you wanna keep asking questions?”

She squinted at her newfound companion. “Uh. No offense, but...who the hell are you and where did you come from? Not that I’m really complaining. I hate dying more than once in a day, but generally I know where the backup’s coming from, y’know?”

The Outer God threatening to devour them, that they’ll talk about, but I mean the literal space they enter.It scares the shit out of them that there’s this space that no one can see that could harbor anything in it. That’s actually part of why they use it so often: just to check.

He will eventually create a device that leads to first contact with alien life.
