I keep thinking about what if Adrian from your modern HotD story was somehow transported into AKOFTSK timeline instead. I’d be curious to see how she’d interact with the characters, especially with Duncan and Egg the rest of the Targaryens.

I’ve been thinking that too!

In my head I imagine Adrian being transported to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Era after she spent time in the House of the Dragon era. This would be after Aemond forced her to marry him (but in this scenario she wouldn’t get pregnant by him), and having met Alys she was supposed to cast a spell to send Adrian back home to the modern world but accidentally sent her forward in time instead while still in Westeros.

So then she meets all these new people, some of which she’s related to because she’s a Targaryen through her grandfather Maegor, and since she still existed during the HotD era there would be evidence of that, mainly the stories of how obsessed Aemond Targaryen had been with her and how he acted after her disappearance.

Now as for how she’d interact with everyone, I think it’s a given Adrian and Dunk would get along well. I could even see Dunk developing feelings for her. Adrian would be so protective over Egg, like come on it would be impossible for her not to go all mother hen on him 🥹

As for the rest of the Targaryens, Adrian would admire and respect Baelor, and given that Adrian is a Martell (who looks like Aurelia Martell-the Princess of Dorne who disappeared years ago), and Baelor's father, Daeron The Good, married a Martell, he would be fond of her.

Maekar would remind Adrian of her grandfather Adriano because of his sternness, but would understand why he’s so grumpy with the sons he has, especially after learning he had to raise them by himself once his wife died.

I think Daeron and Adrian would have some kind of friendship, somewhat similar to the friendship she had with Aegon II. There’d a lightness there because of Adrian that Daeron didn’t get as much because of his dreams before her arrival. He still drinks but her presence does help a lot.

As for Aerion, well Adrian would hate him. As for how Aerion would treat her, since she is still technically a Targaryen on her grandfather’s side (Maegor) I could see him becoming obsessed with her as Aemond was. So she’d have another Targaryen after her 😩

“It gladdens me to make your acquaintance, Lady Adrian.” Gwayne smiled courteously at the dark haired women he’d been intrigued to meet ever since he was informed about the sudden wedding that was to take place. “My nephew has told me nothing but wonderful things about you since my arrival.”

Adrian wanted to snarl at the mere mention of Aemond but for the sake of not scaring off Gwayne, who she just met and found no real reason to hate him yet discarding his relation to the family who forced this marriage (her own family too–how fucked was that?), she pretended to act flattered. “Oh, has he? Isn’t that kind.” 

Gwayne, having not caught the undertones of Adrian’s true unhappiness as of yet, nodded his head. “Yes, he thinks highly of you, and you must think highly of him as well.”

Adrian almost screamed from the frustration of it all. She had to turn her head at the last second from the red haired knight as the exasperated words left her mouth in a heated whisper. “I think he’s an ass.”

Gwayne’s smile dimmed, wondering if his ears had heard right or if they were perhaps messing with him from all the noise in the hall where the wedding feast was being held. “What was that?”

Adrian plastered a fake smile on her face as she looked back at Alicent’s older brother. “I said, I think he has such class.”

“Little Daeron isn’t so little anymore, is he?” Aegon roared with an irksome laugh. “We could dye your hair auburn and call you mother.” 

Rather than taking the bait and responding in anger, as Daeron suspected Aegon wanted him to, he delivered a line of drollery. “We could do the same to you brother, and then we’ll be twins. Triplets if we stand next to our mother.”

Adrian couldn’t help it. She laughed. It wasn’t like Aegon’s laugh, loud and obnoxious, but tuneful. It was her first real laugh since this damn wedding―hell, since she’d been carried back to the Red Keep by Aemond. The rum coursing through her surely had been a nudge with Daeron’s wit acting as the final push. He was funny. A gentleman with a backbone that emitted humor. 

Oh yeah, all things considered Adrian would get along well with him. So would her sister Julieta had she been here, but given how things turned out she was glad she wasn’t. If only circumstances had been different. 

No sooner had Adrian's laughter faltered, expression set when noticing the stares thrown her way by the Targaryen brothers. She didn’t wilter, shrugging her shoulders. “You’re funny.” She told Daeron with a snort, patting his shoulder as she walked past him. 

Daeron, although puzzled, took it as a sign that his good-sister liked him. “Thank you.” He said to her retreating figure before looking back at Aemond with a smile. “She finds me humorous.” 

Aemond let out a short breath, lips pursed. “Hmm, do excuse me.” He addressed his youngest brother more than his oldest before trailing after his wife. He was swift to catch up with her, to which she seemed irritated by his proximity.  

Daeron furrowed his brows at that. Curious while also concerned about this oddity, he turned his attention to Aegon. His oldest brother however offered no answers, chortling before leaving his side to get more wine.
