what part of their living space reflects them the most?@howlinstack
there is a corner of the bedroom that's truly pearline's, with a simple but elegant vanity / dressing table. she hangs up her dresses the evening before so that she has one for a night out or a morning out. it really is her own little enclave with the dresser holding her hair pins, scarves, any little souvenir that she could take from a night out. it's got little filigree accents in dark wood and holds a journal where she often just writes her thoughts or records down a song that she wants to perform again.
all of these things she holds dear are tucked away in places only she knows, very much showing that way she keeps her real emotions a little close to the vest. the vanity and dresser storing all her treasures kind of holds symbolism for the way she's had to insist on her femininity and the way music lets her come alive. very few juke joints ever printed fliers so many of pearline's stray papers in her journal come from advertisements for blues players at the railroad.
