\ooo/ In this room, I took my very first class at Georgetown. It was a writing class. The chairs may have changed, but the spirit of the room is the same. My calling was reaffirmed in this room, then as it is now. Here I sit 20 years later as a novelist and a teacher, trying to give to others what the great Keith Fort and Stephanie Vermeychuk gave to me in the Fall of 1997.
