Luna was minding their own business, padding around barefoot in the forbidden forest had been something they’d done since they were a first-year at Hogwarts. Back then, they didn’t have any friends and tended to head to the forest in hopes of avoiding people who would only take pride in trying to make them miserable. Common topics included her father, the way she dressed, her white-blonde hair, the fact they were a blood traitor, how people thought she was crazy, and most cruelly- her mother’s death. The latter of them all hurt the most and had given them a tough skin, one that tended to be covered with innocent smiles and the distant look in her eyes that people expected. Now, sitting at a quiet table outside of a random cafe in Diagon Aley, Luna sketched quietly in her notepad, feet curled beneath her as she hummed to herself. The slightest scuffle on the cobblestones caught their attention. “I can hear you, you know. You can come to sit down here. I’m not as mad as everyone says.”
