ok im going to disregard my memory of the previous names i learned and focus on ashen, caliginous, pale and flush apparently. i can always associated names to them afterwards if andrew wont tell me.

so.....ig we’re JUST focusing on hate/love romances here. ”red romance” which im going to assume is the love portion...is flush and pale? so the uhh the heart and diamond part of the quadrants. and “black romance” is hate....and the uh spade/club???

so red romance --> positive emotions (love)

black romance --> negative emotions (hate)

ok now whats the difference between the two black romances, and two red romances lol what variations of love/hate are there

wait i think i get it

the horizontal links: diamond/heart, and spade/club represent the category of romance. either a romance determined by hate or a romance determined by love. red/black.

the vertical links determine the type of romance the people have DURING the relationship

either it be the platonic portion of a relationship versus the lust portion of the relationship. so humans have both in this sense. a relationship is contrived of talking things out and enjoying the presence of one another and also being incredibly horny for one another. depending on sexuality of course, but on average thats it.

which is why some people have “friends with benefits” and why some people have just “friends”. ones controlled by lust without the emotional connection of a relationship, while the other has the emotion connection of a relationship without experiencing lust. so both of those are separated as two different relationships in troll culture. and you can have a partner for each one. which means black romance has both a relationship for hate-lust/and one for a frenemy i take it. while red romance has a best friend and a love-lust.

ok so trolls dont want one person for one category at a time. they want one person for EACH QUADRANT. so rather than find a person and figuring out which romance they want them to be in, there will in the end be 4 (if you find one for each) and thats normal. so you can basically date 4 people at the same time. equivalent to human’s notion of polyamory i take it. however, im guessing its only one troll for ONE quadrant. not many for one. which is why kanaya was upset?? bc vriska chose tavros for the “red” quadrant (not sure which one...maybe hearts) and kanaya wanted hearts for vriska well. so you cant control which quadrant u feel attraction for but it sucks if it doesnt go as planned bc of the troll’s notion of “soulmates”. and if ur crushes quadrant is filled in that particular space, then that just sucks ig....unless u switch out the emotions u feel for somebody which honestly, would be hard

i wonder if you can like switch over time. like if youre in the red quadrant, and you ever break up, can you go to the black quadrant bc you might hate each other afterwards? or is that not how it works?

and can you also....feel a quadrant for both? like vacillate? like ur in a relationship with a troll, its fully flushed and u know u filled that space in their quadrant. but one day the affection changes and u feel black romance instead.... what happens then????
