This is complete personal preference, and anyone who bothers to read this has full right to chew me out
So, in Homestuck, the Bard class seems to be both underutilized and confusing as hell. There's only two known ones, Gamzee Makara, and Cronus Ampora. Bards of Rage and Hope respectively. But, my gripe isn't with the purpose of the class. It's the passive destroyer class, counterpart to the Prince. My issue, is with the costume.
As everyone who's mostly read Homestuck knows, we all should know that Gamzee can't die. Literally. Gamzee can't die until Caliborn's final fight with both the Alpha and Beta kids, where Dirk Strider will use his soul powers to suck half of Gamzee's corpse into Lil' Cal, alongside Caliborn and ARquius's souls, making Lord English. As such, when he showed up visiting Jane, his God Tier clothes were ersatz, seeing as to go God Tier, you need to die on your Quest Bed/Cocoon or your Summoning Slab, and Gamzee can't do that. (As we saw in the Ministrife, there was only one Gamzee. There were even multiple of Gamzee's dancestor, Kurloz Makara. Yet, only one Gamzee.) As such, Gamzee's regarded as being "Cod Tier".
Yet, when we see Cronus' alternate God Tier self, his costume also has the titular element of Gamzee's tier; the Codpiece. Yes, I know it's a reference to Bard Quest. But, why is it on the official Bard outfit? Hussie has stated that Calliope's statement about classes being gendered is incorrect, and that anyone can be any class eligible in their session of SBURB. So, why does the real Bard costume have a codpiece? That makes this confusing. Do ladies who obtain Bard class just not have a Codpiece? Does this mean that male Trolls have genitalia? I hope not. We know how grubs are made, just not how the genetic material is given, and I'd like to believe that Trolls aren't sexually dimorphic.
If Gamzee's tier is "Cod Tier", why does this alternate Cronus, a real bard, have a codpiece? I just don't get it.
