No matter what his strict, traditional parents told him, Owen always knew he was destined to pursue a creative path in life. His best subjects at school were always art and music. One fateful summer in college, he landed a business internship in the payroll department of a tattoo studio, and his imagination lit up with possibility. After his internship ended, he put together a portfolio of his art and applied for an apprenticeship with the studio, practicing and eventually working there as a tattoo artist during nights and weekends.

Today, Owen is a rising star in Bridgeport’s tattoo scene. His pieces, which often combine elements of traditional Chinese art with modern aesthetics and pop culture references, are a big hit. With his unique skills and growing reputation, his client list is always expanding. He takes pride in his work and feels incredibly lucky to make a living doing what he loves. Even though his parents still don’t completely “get it”, they can’t argue with his sizable monthly paychecks.

In his spare time, Owen loves visual arts, attending concerts and raves, playing the piano, and hanging out with his friends. His love of music stems from his childhood when his parents enrolled him in piano lessons, and he enjoys making music as well as discovering other artists to add to his huge and varied library. Since he is in charge of his own work schedule, he makes sure to carve out time for his hobbies and for the people he cares about, to protect himself from burnout. Although he has workaholic tendencies, he makes an effort to put his own well-being before his work, in order to live a balanced and healthy life.

Owen is drawn to bachelorette Nic because he can relate to her story. He gets along best with other creative types, and he wants to be with someone who is equally fueled by creativity and passion as he is, someone who understands and respects the process of creating something, no matter what medium it is. Owen knows that turning a hobby into a full-time job is no small feat, and he is intrigued by the woman behind the rising indie game studio. Hi, I’m Noelle and I want to submit my application to be your eh... well, I mean, I saw the ad for your girlfriend search thing, and I’d like to meet you. If you’d like to, of course. I apologize, my people skills are a bit rusty, it seems. To be honest, I haven’t been interacting with others all that much in the past two years. There’s kind of a funny story there, actually... coughs...but anyways! Yeah,  paint. A lot, as you can see. This one isn’t finished yet, so sorry about the mess. This was kind of a last minute decision and I probably should’ve cleaned up here a bit, hmm. Anyways, I’m 29, single, obsessed with art, according to everyone... I don’t usually join things like bachelorette challenges, but I saw your advertisement and something just resonated, you know. I sort of know what it’s like when the things we love come between us and the people we love.

Noelle has been obsessed with art and colors since she was barely a toddler. As she grew up, she developed her artistic skills and made quite a name for herself in some art circles. Unfortunately, despite her talent with the paintbrush, she is a very anxious and awkward person, often feeling like others’ company is too much and preferring the company of her easel.

Despite that, she did date in the past. Up until three years ago, she was in a relationship with another woman and, at first, everything was absolutely charming. Then the honeymoon period ended. Noelle’s girlfriend began to increasingly begrudge the amount of time Noelle spent with her paintings. Fights and screaming matches happened. It escalated one day, when her girlfriend was really mad and Noelle thought Ava (ex-gf’s name) was going to hit her. Instead, Ava destroyed her easels and paintings, tossing them out like trash. Noelle was heartbroken, because someone who really loved her wouldn’t have done that. That’s when she knew it was over. The next day, when Ava left for work, Noelle, simply packed up her belongings, left a note that said “We’re over, goodbye,” and left for good. She ended up taking a one way ticket from their native Alpine County to the island of Enekjaer. She’s been living there since, venturing out into town rarely to stock up on food and supplies, and painting and playing music while she was home. She was fairly content that way, until one day, she was playing her violin outside the house and a little neighboring kid thought there was a ghost in her house because her neighbors didn’t even realize she lived there.

This made her reflect on how much of a shut-in she’s been lately. She realized she didn’t like this at all, even if staying by herself felt much more safe and comfortable than venturing out and meeting others. But she also doesn’t want to be alone forever. And something about Nic is really sweet, in the best kind of way, so she’s willing to give this a try.

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

Hello! I’m Dan, I’m 24 and I live with my lab, Butter, and work with my mother. She has an Art school and I help her with management. The school was her project and she made it happen almost single-handedly, so I’m proud of the fact I contribute to its story and help to make a legacy out of my family’s hard work. I’m passionate about enjoying my days to the best, and spending my free hours outdoors is probably the easiest way to take care of my body and mind: I enjoy running (so does Butter), yoga and country walks when I can. Music is also one of my passions - I’m a prog rock nerd and sometimes play with friends. That’s another way of keeping my sanity and enjoying moments. That’s the kind of music that makes me feel out of this world, in my own peaceful place. I consider myself pretty chill, quick to forgive and open to talks. I know I can also be stubborn and demanding when I put my mind on to something.

Why did you join the Bachelorette Challenge?

That’s such a unique experience I’d never consider a while back. I love meeting new people, but being on the spotlight like this is not natural for me, and that’s something I’m working on. I’m also curious to meet Nic, she seems so driven about her work and that made such a good impression on me. Hopefully we’ll get along well!

Trey was raised on his parent’s commercial farm in Winchester Farming Community. When his parents retired to Isla Paradiso, his older brother inherited the family business and now runs it with his younger sister, who is a whiz with numbers. Although offered a chance to join them, Trey felt it was time to branch off and create something of his own. 

As the middle child, Trey felt unsure of himself and his position in life which tends to make him shy around new people. But he has definite views on organic gardening and eco-living and he is NOT afraid to butt-heads over them (or anything he deems important, really)!  

As for hobbies, Trey has recently picked up an acoustic guitar from a second hand store and is teaching himself to play. But most if his time is spent in his greenhouse learning better ways of caring for his plants.

Lastly, Trey’s core values lay in his love for family. Despite being far from his own family, he still insists on keeping in touch with all of them. Phone calls, texts, and video chats are his life’s blood! Although not a true hopeless romantic, he does seek a lifelong mate who will be faithful and find value in their commitment to one another.

Brandon Lorenzo for @heavensims' Bachelorette Challenge

After his parents died in an sea related incident when he was still a toddler, Brandon was raised by his grandfather who was a proud angler. He was already taught fishing at the age of six, and little by little his grandfather passed on all the secrets of fishing and life skills he knew until the time of his passing. Growing up Brandon never did fear or hate the sea, but reminded him that it was the reason his family, and now he alone, have the means to live. Brandon's interest not only in fishes, but also sea creatures, developed in his high school biology classes in which he decided: he will become a Marine Biologist someday.

Brandon is a fast learner, after all he was taught very young. He is adequately skilled in fishing, but is still learning and discovering new techniques enhancing his grandfather's old ones. He also loves cooking, with seafood recipes as his obvious specialty, and a little bit of handiness that he is willing to hone more. Most of the fishes he caught are sold to a local supermarket in Sunset Valley which is generous enough to provide him stable income, a part of it he is saving for college to pursue his dream job.

Brandon never really bothered dating before because he was used to being alone, although he likes being outdoors and doesn't actually mind meeting and talking to people. And now he is turning 25 he is now open to committing to a relationship "if the right person comes", that he always says whenever some friends tease him about marrying. He is hopeful of Nic being the "one" for him, and finally get her on his first try who knows?

Nicola ‘Nic’ Yeung was raised in the heart of Roaring Heights by two successful parents. She “didn’t apply herself” in school, instead choosing to spend her time immersed in fantasies of her own making, scraping by with only passable grades. While working as a barista after graduating high school, Nic began posting her stories online, eventually teaching herself basic programming skills to develop text-based adventure games and branching out into modding best-selling games to add new quests.

It was in one of her online forums that she met Max, another avid modder who endorsed her quest mods and offered his help programming and animating future ideas she might have. The two hit it off and began creating bigger and more complex mods for their favorite games until they finally decided to meet IRL. Nic and Max dated for the next 3 years, during which they formed their own small indie company, Shadoware Studios. Their debut title, Parallax, won Best Debut Indie Game. Nic was only 25 at the time. The much anticipated sequel, Parallax II: Call of Thoggus is set to release next year.

Though she hates crowds and being the center of attention, Nic is easily in her element when advocating for her game and characters. She’s truly passionate about what she does (she’s loathe to call it “work”) and will fight tooth and nail for her studio. Nic longs to find someone who understands and accepts her passion, but someone who can also be a balancing force in her life. Max cares just as deeply for Shadoware and, ultimately, the two never made time for each other outside of work. When it became clear it was either their relationship or Shadoware, both equally and unequivocally made the choice to pick their true love over each other. Nic needs someone who can understand this and not be threatened by her devotion to Shadoware (and her close relationship with an ex), but who also encourages and entices her to live outside her fantasy realm. 

Nic rarely makes time for her personal life outside of work and has thus decided to become the next bachelorette in the hopes that the producers can help her meet her match.

Each sim should have a small, accompanying bio please! I'll need a good feel for each contestant as the challenge will be told in a narrative style. I will also be sending questionnaires for confessionals, like with Jesse’s BC. Participation is optional.

Your sim may have 5 total skillpoints. You may include which skillpoints you’d like in either the bio or a private .txt in the download and I will make sure to assign them with master controller at the start of the save.
