I saw a picture of you today. I remember why I loved the way you got excited about the simplest of things or the way you listened to me pour my heart out. I also remember the glances you gave to two of my best friends overlooking the fact that I gave those glances to you. I tried telling myself that you wanted me, but I don’t think that’s the case. You will never admit it, but I’m not what you want. I don’t fit into a single digit jean, I don’t act sophisticated or complicated, I am impossibly me. Over the years I have repeatedly told myself that I am more than enough. Yeah, I have had my fair share of heartbreaks, but that alone pushes me to do better. To pick up and keep going. I only hope that someday you realize what you missed out on.

Ones that tell me all of their problems, carefree, just 'cause that's how much they trust me, no matter what the age gap is.
