ahh no worries,, i brought it up first. i believe romantic attraction, like sexual attraction, is fluid. so while i’ve been in love before, i still think i might be aro now.
romance is also just... an inescapable concept in this society. and if you can research or imagine it, you can write it! (though if one outright disliked romance, i can see how that might complicate things.)
aromantics use the terms “romance positive,” “romance repulsed” and “romance indifferent” to describe how they feel about romantic activities and the concept of romance. so you can experience no romantic attraction but still enjoy romantic acts/relationships. same goes for asexuality (you can swap out “romantic” with “sexual” in the previous sentence and it would still make sense). at the end of the day orientation only describes attraction; anything else is probably a stereotype/generalization.
generally speaking, many writers tell stories about things they don’t fully understand/don’t have first-hand experience in. i’m repeating myself, but it comes down to research and/or plain imagination where applicable.
