DUDE I JUST SAW HTTYD 2 EARLIER AND ASDFGHJKL I ALMOST CRIED DUDE but I think my favorite part is when Hiccup is flying in his suit around Drago's Bewilderbeast's tail and it almost hits him and he goes 'oh not again' or something along the lines of that and I seriously broke out laughing I think people stared at me

Oh shit yeah, the parallels of that final battle here little Easter eggs for first!movie fans.

Also, just want to remind us of how that parallel deviated... and how it served to highlight a significant function. 

I know some people were a bit: "oh no, wtf are these doofy things on his back?  Are they just making Toothless more comical??  What is point???" 

Imagine if Valka was around for Hiccup's first meeting with Toothless, and if she had massaged the fins out before the Battle of the Green Death.  Hiccup might still have a leg.

Firstly, OMG I WATCHED HTTYD2 LAST NIGHT AND AM STILL NOT OVER IT AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I TOTALLY GET THE SIMBA!CUP THING AND IT WAS SO FABULOUS. Secondly, I was carefully watching (hoping, more like) for Hiccup's potty mouth and evidently missed it all- unless you meant when he says they would kick Drago's _____?

I JUST SAW IT AGAIN! 

AND now does my secret gushy page make more sense? I left it a special jumped mess that needed a real viewing to understand ;)

And yes, I meant that.  There was also another point--or a couple--where he seems to be leading to say something and cuts himself off.  I think there was a "What the--"

I just saw the second movie and. I am dead. I am very much dead. Okay I saw a preview on TV that said it was "more fun than Frozen" which is definitely true (I mean I love Frozen but). I was actually SHOCKED at some things. Like Dreamworks doesn't pull any punches, they had a lot of things I would NEVER expect to see in a kids' movie. I'm not even sure why I'm telling you all this but I think all the risks are part of what made it really great? (I appreciate feral!Hiccup a lot more now too!)

It's okay to tell me this. I understand very well all the pent up, confused energy swirling in your body and unable to figure out quite how to deal with it.  We've got a lot of soul bruises to recover from :(

Just saw the movie. Great great movie, but what did you think about the pacing? I mean yikes I think we could have easily gotten another 30-45 minutes of quality movie just based on what I saw.

I've said it before after the first time I saw it: pacing was a bit of an issue, and I do believe an extra twenty minutes (at least) could have been sprung for to help with it.  A couple montages to help with time-flow would have gone a long way.

But, I didn't expect it to be perfect. There's so much in that movie to enjoy that it helps me overlook the flaws.

I saw HTTYD2 today and i'm not sure what part this was but Hiccup said something super duper sassy and there was no sound for a few seconds and from behind me i heard this LOUD hysteric laughing from a little girl and everyone just cracked up because of the girl's creepy ass laughter than you could easily hear over the movie (there was also a girl next to me who gasped and said 'holy SHIT' when Hiccup took of his helmet hehe)

See… THOSE are good audience reactions. I hope I get to experience those. Watching a movie with an interactive audience is the best!

What did you think about the Ruffnut-Snotlout-Fishlegs-Eret romance thing? Did you like it or was it rather unnecessary?

I personally love it. And how it… semi resolved.
