Heroes would probably be a good found family contender but in craving a specific thing rn. Something where the found family is structured like a nuclear family of sorts, with parentals and siblings, maybe grandparents, like hustle or leverage or los protegidos.
Welp guess I'm on the search for a new found family show to watch, since Hustle just came to my house and kicked me in the teeth.
Who the fuck is that on the cover??? That's not Adrian Lester right??? You guys see that too???
I'm probably only gonna watch up until season 4 of Hustle bc I've read that the dynamics change (+ Stacy and Danny leave)
I solemnly swear to fill the hustle tag with show content instead of posts about grinding and getting richer
Episode 6 season 1 of Hustle was absolutely incredible. I was so sure Danny was gonna ditch the crew and then it solidified the found family. Also Mickey and Danny improvising to get one over the bad guy and then that hug 🥺 I love them.
(Not found family related, but I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised with how they handled the lesbianism of that one background character. Danny didn't make any creepy comments or anything, he took her sexuality as a solid thing that wasn't moldable. Ik it's bare minimum, but Leverage (it will forever be what I compare Hustle to, and so far Hustle is good but doesn't compare), as much as it's my favourite show, doesn't have a good track record as far as respectfully portraying queer people (I'm talking about Hardison's caricaturing of queer and trans men, not that one lady who gave Sophie her number). So points to Hustle for that.)
Also not only is the found family in this show incredibly open and deliberate—the whole "begrudgingly and secretly caring for each other" deal is cool, but this type of thing is MORE comforting when you already have a found family—it is also really well structured. It drives me up the wall sometimes. Especially Mickey and Albert's relationship. I love me found family with clear roles.
