(NOT) PART OF THE PLAN

Don't judge me. I just want to pour my thoughts somewhere and in doing so I hope I can discuss it with other people and hear their input. Basically I wrote this to clear my head and tidy up my mind. So maybe it will be quite long. Please forgive me if my writing feels all over the place.

Listen, I feel, since the beginning, K is not part of the plan. And no, not in the sense of protecting her privacy and whatnot. She was not part of any plan. She is not supposed to be known and seen publicly.

I kind of feel like this since my dive into HR fandom around late December - early January. I doubted myself at the time. But the more I see K and the more they show her, I am most certain I was right.

I didn't seriously follow any news and update about HR, H/C and the crew in the beginning. But in my first serious foray into the fandom, I've already heard about K. Only heard about her and never saw her because I didn't bother. I am here to enjoy HR and hudcon dynamics.

So in the beginning I readily accepted that H has a gf. But at that same time, I was enjoying hudcon content and I watched their dynamic. And I can't help but question the validity of K as H's gf.

Why didn't I question H/C dynamic instead? Why didn't I think that hudcon is fanservice? Because at that time I already knew about their interaction on IG during filming and I watched how they interact during promo. Meanwhile, I couldn't find any trace of K in any posts. And I believe if there is even a dot of K in H's socials during the filming of HR, fans would have clocked it. And recent hudcon content proves me right. I didn't realize K was at Armani party. I knew because other fans spotted her. See? There are people readily search for her in every hudcon sightings.

Back on track. So I think K is never meant to be introduced in the first place. She was not part of the plan, even as buffer. She is not part of the plan, still. That's way the more we see and hear about H/K, the more disjointed it looks. Both when we observe it as a singular case and as a whole narration.

I think what happened was K being outed by DM was really really really unexpected turn of events for H and his team. I think nobody saw it coming. H even left a harsh comment for DM back then. But it's not primarily because K's privacy was being breached but mainly because DM threw a wrench in an almost ready plan of H and his team.

But what's done is done. People believe H has a gf, though H never explicitly deny or confirm. And this situation is rather tricky. H is a rising star, fresh from a breakout role that catapult him into stardom. These factors actually enough for him to start his professional acting career.

But among these factors, there is one situation that potentially can hinder H's journey in his early phase: his unmistakable chemistry and connection with C that has already been witnessed by everyone.

If H straight up denying K as his gf, it's highly possible that people will jump to conclusion that C is his partner base on their interaction. Not to mention the possibility of another rumor: H dumps his gf after he get famous. Or even worse rumor: H cheated on his gf with his co-star and now H dump his gf after he hit it big to be together with his co-star.

In my opinion, in his early career, it's super important for H to present himself not only as a new in-demand celeb, but also as a serious, professional actor with remarkable talent, with a solid work ethic and charming personality. Basically someone you would fight for to join your project. And gossip about romance, whether it's messy break up, cheating allegation, and especially queer romance with his co-worker can shift the focus from what his team want. In this early stage, the focus has to be on his professional aspect: H is a young new talent.

So H is basically caught between a rock and a hard place. But DM outing K also putting K in the line of sight of H's team. So, rather than doing the absolut, deny or confirm, it's better take advantage of the situation to control the narrative.

Even if they already has a plan to launch H's career, plan itself is not something rigid. It could change to adapt to the latest development. And in this new development, H's team propose to H to collaborate with K. Why do I think it was H's team who initiate it? Because from what we've seen so far, H never show any enthusiasm whenever they collab. Maybe H even refused at first. Maybe H didn't want to drag K into the mess. K is his friend after all.

But by bringing K into this, it serves 3 purposes:

It serves as buffer to minimize the focus on H/C

It also can serve as the ultimate shut down on H's availability, thus forcing the focus on H's professional life rather than private life. My argument is H is an attractive man. Even though he played a gay role, he is still a man with magnetic pull. Women and men want him. No doubt journalists will try to dig into his status whether he's single or not. With K there, they will have ready made answer

It ensures the narrative is firmly in their control. Rather than letting the gossip outlet write what they want and run with it, it's better if H's team is the one controlling when, where and how you will see H/K

But, wait. You said K is not part of the plan. Why does it look like now H and his team is incorporating her in H's career plan?

K is not part of H's big plan. She's given a role to ensure H and his team's plan can continue smoothly. But for me, we can say that C is part of H's plan.

What is your theory about where they are right now in terms of their relationship? Already together? About to be? Not yet but they know feelings?

I honestly feel like they’re the only ones who truly understand whatever vibe they have going on, and the fact that their friendship is so intensely private just raises so many red flags. There are still a few things that leave me completely confused.

Whenever I watch them interact, the thought in my head is pretty loud and clear: "these two feel something, and it’s something incredibly strong." Plus, literally everything that came out of the Met and the after-parties—the Page Six article, that photo Hudson posted of Connor in the bathroom at the GQ after-party, the anons letting us know they were constantly all over each other and went to the bathroom together twice for 15 minutes... like, it's all a bit too much for just a friendship.

But then Hudson goes back to Vancouver, and his relationship with K gets flaunted by friends at every single opportunity (and by DM, of course). She’s there, it seems obvious (?), I mean she’s always been around. But DeuxMoi’s insistence is getting ridiculous, not to mention the whole marriage situation...

I really felt a shift during SNL, and I got that exact same vibe at the Met. The problem is, after the photos Hudson posted and his comment on Threads, everything just went downhill. Now, every single thing that drops feels like heavy damage control to cover up a massive hole.

Sorry for the long rant, but there's just so much to unpack and analyze here.

Gymnasts in Fandom

To be honest, for me it was unexpected how H brought up C in his interviews at Bell Media event. First he said, "...seeing C" and then describing he and C knew what their relationship would bloom into.

And as usual, Hudcon haters and solos are showcasing their aptitude for mental gymnastic in disproving the bond between H and C. This time, they argued that H didn't say "seeing", but "sine" as in "without". So they'd rather believe H suddenly threw a latin word in the middle of english sentence.

Apparently, they also had a mental breakdown before this because H posting C's photo with a heart on his face. For them, H was just joking and it means nothing.

But their mental gymnastic maneuver was funny because while they argue that it was just a joke, they presented VDay Story as evidence. The funny part is they attach the cropped version of VDay Story.

Two different accounts using the same cropped version, where they cut C out of the pic, to argue about why H post C again in the same manner.

And when they get called out,

I remember several months ago, after VDay story was posted, I also found similar argument with another H solo acc posting the same cropped pic and when they were being called out, they also gave basically the same answer.

It never stop to amaze me how haters and solos always repeat the same pattern. Hudcon healings drop, they have a meltdown, then try to explain with twisted argument only to get slapped with a fact later on.

My crack theory, I suspect H chose to put C's photo in separate slide this time so haters and solos can't easily crop him out again without making it look weird. 😁😜

Message Received

Just saw this..

It looks like I was wrong. I formed my opinion too soon and maybe I missed several important points. If there is truly an agenda, it seems they achieved it. They successfully sent their message to the media and general public. I think the messages are, but not limited to:

Hudson has a girlfriend and they've been together for years (don't need to specify how many years because public doesn't need that detail)

Hudson still loves her and their relationship is great. That's why Hudson brought her with his parents to CSA, like telling the public that his parents already familiar with her

His girlfriend has done so much for him, supporting him, believing in him, keeping him stable all these years. And Hudson will never forget that so he gave her "the sweetest mention" in his speech

Honestly, I thought Hudson bringing his parents and K, plus included them in red carpet photo session was a bit overkill. And please don't mistake this as me hating Hudson. I just thought it was a bit too much. He basically brought not his plus one, but plus three.

I understand that it was the first big night for his career, so he wanted to share it with the people he loves. But all three together on the red carpet was unnecessary. I don't follow celebrity culture and don't know much about award ceremony. But from what I've seen so far, nobody brings his entire family, except if the entire family are celebrities themselves. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

At the event, Hudson posed with them on the red carpet I think was to help deliver message number 2 I mentioned above.

And after accepting his first ever trophy, Hudson gave a shoutout to K in his speech. He actually gave many people a shoutout. There were Rachel, Jacob, his parents to name a few. And there's almost no difference between the shoutout for K and for other people.

This is a transcript I found on twt. We can see here that basically all the people got a thank you. Except Connor. Hudson didn't say thank you. He went further than that by sharing his award with Connor. He practically said he doesn't mind cutting the trophy in half.

Not only Hudson went further for Connor in his speech, he also spoke longer as we can see in the transcript above.

But my point is, by doing the bare minimum of shoutout consisted of love you and thank you for keeping me stable, Hudson managed to deliver message number 3. They drove the message home so well media named it the sweetest mention. Of course, the burden of proof for male-female couple also helps in establishing the narrative.

My mistake this time maybe because I see things from inside fandom perspective. Like that quote from Now You See Me movie, "The closer you look, the less you see."

I look at H/K interaction and dynamic as fans inside the fandom. I tried to understand it as fans. And by doing that, I missed on seeing things as general public. As fans, we already know about the pattern, and we can easily clocked it whenever the pattern is repeated or disrupted. I said that H/K move consistently (H/C do, too but that's beside the point right now).

It's still true, especially because we as fans recognize their dynamic now. But it's also true when being seen from outside the fandom by general public. In fact, the narrative feels simple but more complete from their perspective.

Imagine this:

"A young man shot to fame suddenly. He has special bond with his male co-star? Oh, they are just bestfriend. See? This young man has a girlfriend for many years."

"Oh, look this young man brings his girlfriend to the Oscars. Not many people will stay faithful to their partner after they hit it big. This young man is a good person with good personality. Oh, he act chummy with his male co-star? I told you they are bestfriends. They said it themselves. They are just being their usual silly, freak self. And his girlfriend is right there! You don't think he will try anything while she is there, right? Plus, that's impossible! He has a girlfriend, he's straight!"

"Oh, look! Now this young man is nominated for an award. How sweet, he brings his parent and his girlfriend. Wait, does it mean his parents already met her before? Did they accept her? Because it's impossible to bring her in this grand event if his parents are still unfamiliar with, or even rejected her."

"My God, this young man wins his first award. Oh, of course he thanks his parents and his girlfriend. They are his family. And they're in attendance after all. He must be prepared for this moment. Oh, he shares his award with his male co-star? Of course, like I said this young man has great personality. He doesn't neglect his girlfriend after he becomes famous. He surely won't forget his bestfriend. They also act alongside each other in the show. It's just a gesture of friendship."

See where I'm going with this? Maybe this is also where they're going with all of that situation.

It's easy for us fans to spot the difference in vibe, dynamic, and interaction between H/C and H/K. We look closely so we see the nuance, the details.

From public perspective, because they don't look that closely, they kind of missed that nuance and details. But they don't need it. They still get a big picture. And the picture is still complete.

Even if the public feel some inconsistencies or find news article talking about H/C ambiguous relationship, it's easier for them to dismiss it. Once again, because they already got their complete picture. They don't need to add more detail.

I also think that placing K in the more 'serious' event like award ceremony will give more weight to the story of a long term relationship/couple. In addition, award ceremony usually is more popular among the general public so it will have broader reach. People who usually watch award ceremony are usually fans of the art being awarded in the event and casual viewers. These people don't necessarily follow the celebs that closely. Of course the fans of the celeb also watch the event but they are not the focus of the agenda.

Now, with their narrative basically accepted by the media and public, I hope we will see lesser and lesser of H/K. This is my selfish desire. But of course I don't know what will happen in the future so I could be wrong again. And this is just my theory. I could change my opinion again if there is new development.

Sigh... Another Sighting

I've never thought I would get new H/K content this time around. Thank you for proving me wrong. But what a content.

Let's use the general assumption that these pics are recent. H looked tired and listless in the second pic. By the sky shown in the window, the first pic was taken after the second pic. And in both pics, H sat in the exact same spot for hours (kind people on twt kindly pointed it out, too).

The question I found from many fans is, if they wanted to paint a picture of lovers, didn't they have other pictures to post? If H/K are couple who haven't seen each other for some time, didn't it make sense if they tried to be as close as possible to each other? I mean, we know how H/C are. They just met at CAA party at Oscars weekend but acted like they've been separated for years at VF after party (which ironically, K was present there). And it's only one example.

Kalem only posted these two pictures which frankly only make the narrative of H/K as a couple, worse. And after Met Gala with tons of H/C contents, the difference just become glaringly obvious.

Some of the comments I found talk about how it's usual for long-term couple to behave like this. I will not dismiss your experience, then. But you can't dismiss my doubt either.

H also looked tired at Met Gala. Yet we still saw him actively engaging with the people around him, especially C. And this photo of the century show how H is very actively leaning on C

2. If you argue that H just arrived from LA and only has little time to settle, we also remember that H was busy filming Yaga when he made time to fly to NYC to "be there for Connor" on SNL, and directly flew back to Canada after. In short, H is able to be there for those who's important to him no matter how short his time is

3. If the argument is that the pics taken by Kalem is candid photo, and that H/K were in the midst of doing something and these are the ones captured, well... there also candid photos of H/C that oozes more chemistry

Forget photo. I will use this. What is this stolen moment mean?

Let's put aside the fiasco that is fake IG acc yesterday. It's possible Kalem just missed his friends, so he posted this. Not necessarily to present H/K as a couple. And that's interesting because we can see these pics from different angle: just three old friends meeting after a long time apart.

In fact, if the assumption is that H/K is no more, it makes sense that the three haven't hung out together for a long time. And maybe this is the first time in months H and K and K are in a same place together. His caption, "Missed these two," can be alluded to the idea that Kalem missed hanging out with H and K. But now H is booked and busy and K also has her own life. Plus with H/K no longer a couple, there is no reason for them to meet.

More interesting is the fact that the photos are candid. So there's no pressure for H/K to "act". And the result is they can be themselves as naturally as they possibly can. And the natural state is that of a friend. Not intimate (and not really close either if I may be honest) but still interact.

That also explains the lack of chemistry and the wide distance between H/K when they're eating. There's simply no need for them to perform, and no reason for them to interact the way couples do.

And that kind of answers the questions from several fans that I saw: don't they have other pictures where H/K look loving or at least like each other? No, they don't. There is no such pictures because in this meeting there was no moment where H/K looked couply and loving, because their relationship is not like that anymore.

And maybe H/K are already like that for a long time before this, so even if Kalem still has pictures of H/K as a couple, it would be old pictures. And it will look old and everybody can tell (VDay story, everyone?).
