Hey guys! ^__^ Today, I will be reviewing the Cinched Trench Coat from HudieFly, which is a new online business that carries tons of exclusive and unique pieces. This particular brand aims to "nourish the independent creative movement and expands consumers’ perception of pieces that bears a true indie spirit and originality, infused with artistic, cultural and intellectual influences worldwide." One absolutely amazing thing about their store is that they believe in giving back to various charities, and therefore, a percentage of commissions will be returned back to the community. Aside from that, their clothing pieces are aesthetically pleasing and very different from other brands that carry products from the same manufacturers. If you guys are on the hunt for something new and perhaps unrivaled, be sure to check HudieFly out for some great and refreshing new looks! :) Alright, let's get on with the review now!
I received the coat sealed in a white plastic bag THREE days after being notified of its shipment, which was super quick!
At first, I didn't recognize the beige colored fabric inside as being something I remembered ordering, so I automatically assumed that the package had been shipped to the wrong address. However, after fully unpacking the insides, I was in absolute awe when HudieFly's own customized tote bag came into full view!!! This is my very first time receiving a customized dust bag from ANY online clothing store, and I was super glad and grateful to see how much love and care the staff has put into their customer service! (=´∀`)人(´∀‘=)
I opened the tote bag to find my lovely cinch coat inside, safely wrapped in another layer of plastic~ Along with that, came a customized HudieFly sticker as well ^^
Because this trench was unavailable in a size small, I went for a medium. Here are the details of the coat:
"a contemporary twist on a staple piece makes for a noteworthy addition to your closet. say goodbye to shapeless and scratchy trenches as this super soft coat has a drawstring waist, accentuating your curves while keeping you warm.
with drawstring waist.
material: blend
measurements (inches):
medium: bust 34.5", length 31.5", sleeve 21", waist 28.7"-36.6"
large: bust 35.5", length 32", sleeve 21.65", waist 29.9"- 37.8"
extra-large: bust 37", length 32", sleeve 21.65, waist 33.9"-40.2""
Here's what it looks like! ^__^ As you can see, the front and back are asymmetrical with the front diagonally cascading downwards, which isn't something you usually see in many trenches~
On each side, there is a buttonless pocket that is big enough to hold your phone and possibly even a small wallet~
Next to each pocket is a drawstring, which allows for you to cinch in the waist—preventing the loss of your hourglass figure :) Aside from that, this coat only has one button at the very center, enabling you to keep the trench closed.
Here's a photo of the shoulder detailing; there is a small silver button sewn onto each side that adds more of a military essence to the coat~
Here's what the coat looks like on! ^^
Let the dramatic music commence! >u<
Since we are in the middle of the hot summer season, I decided to style this coat with a Los Angeles muscle tank from Love Culture and a pair of high-waisted denim shorts from H&M~ For shoes, I threw on my favorite pair of booties from Yesstyle to add an edgier touch to the outfit~ The bag I am carrying is from Moooh.
One thing I absolutely love about this coat is that it's not too tight, which allows for a lot of wiggle room and layers underneath—especially during the winter when the weather gets chillier~
This jacket is perfect for all heights and sizes! I was actually a bit afraid of it being too long for my petite frame, but I was able to pull it off, and so can you! ^__^ When autumn and winter comes around, I would recommend pairing this coat with a pair of leggings or a black skater skirt (with tights), some black combat boots or heels, and a white or gray knit sweater to stay warm yet fashionable at the same time~ I will be sure to update you guys with more style posts in the future! :)
