I'm reaching out because I figure at least some of you are here because you've enjoyed my writing on AO3 over the years! I just finished the first draft of an original fiction novel I've been writing (on and off) since 2017, and it's time to get some fresh eyes on it! It's about a small town witch with a cranky crow Familiar trying to break a curse for a femme fatale. And yes, there is magic, it is gay, and it is even polyamorous!
For those interested, we talk about monetary compensation, but I will say right off the bat I can't offer a lot and I totally understand that not everyone can offer their help for free.
Deets under the read-more:
The deets:
~ I need help detecting any continuity errors, grammatical errors, and areas that would benefit from being expanded or trimmed
~ I am looking for feedback of any kind! Are the characters compelling? Is the world-building working? Are there loose ends I missed? Should it be more spicy/less spicy? Should I add another POV? Is the whole thing a big stinky pile of doodoo?!
~ I would give betas access to comment on the Google doc (the more comments the better!) and would appreciate a short review or response (kinda like a GoodReads style book response?) after you've finished reading, reflecting on what you liked and didn't like, what did or didn't make sense, etc.
~ If it ever gets published, you will be mentioned in the Acknowledgements!
About the book:
Working Title: Magic Touch
Currently weighing in at 62.5k
Blurb:
Down a cozy street of apothecaries and palm readers, is a little shop by the name of Magic Touch Spell Service. It is here that hedge witch April offers her magical services to local townies and summer tourists alike. As big-hearted as she is stubborn, April is simply trying to make it through the slow winter season. Sure, money is tight, her late mentor’s cranky Familiar won’t quit hassling her, and she is no stranger to grief, but it’s not all bad. Her boyfriend Ivan is as sweet as the honey from his apiary, the pair have plenty of friends in the small town of Clement, and even if she struggles to believe in herself, April is damn good at her job.
But when a local man dies of an unexplainable ailment, and a woman as inscrutable as she is gorgeous enters the shop in search of a witch to break a curse, April finds herself at odds with her own principles. Will she be able to protect the town that adopted her after the loss of her parents? What would her mentor Mama Zeta say if she could see how her protégé was running the shop she inherited? And is it even possible to return to ‘normal’ after disturbing the ghosts of the past?
After almost 3 years of being outta the game, the wolfstar bug has bitten me once more and I picked up the huge WIP that's been collecting dust on my Google drive for almost 3 years.
Curious if anyone is still interested in a modern muggle AU tackling the ‘Remus is a sex worker trope’ with angst, pining, spice, a cringey meet-cute, flirting and fighting via text, lots of drama and miscommunication and so much more lol. The first chapter may or may not hit ao3 like tonight? Stay tuned

In his first week tending bar at a gay club, runaway Sirius Black finds a lost mobile phone in the loo that leads him back to its owner, Remus Lupin, a fellow expat outcast also trying to eke out a life for himself and outrun his demons. Although sparks immediately fly between the two young men, they struggle to be honest with themselves and each other and make peace with the past.

Modern era muggle AU and my take on the ‘Remus is a sex worker’ fanon trope. There is some non-con and dub-con but also a LOT of lovely wolfstar romance and banter!
Howdy folks! After many months of fandom dormancy your favorite peddler of angsty Wolfstar angst is back. I haven’t actually been dormant, though! I’ve been writing a whole lot of words! 114k and growing, as a matter of fact.
That’s right, I’m working on a fic! And it’s sorta kinda getting closer to the point where I’ll be ready to share it with you all! It’s exciting for a lot of reasons; it’s my first attempt at a modern non-magical AU for one thing! And I’ve taken on the ‘Remus is a sex worker trope’ with my usual amount of internal anguish, pining, and Drama with a capital D (there’s also a lot of D). There’s a cringey meet-cute, there’s flirting and fighting via texting, there’s humor, there’s guest appearances by cats, there’s a tatted up Sirius who plays guitar and tends bar at a gay club and has to contend with the shitty family he left behind in the UK. There’s some cute Jily on the side. And much much more!
Anyway, the problem is, I need beta readers and sensitivity readers. A lot of Trigger Warnings apply, including dub-con and non-con, so it’s not for the faint of heart, but anyone interested in possibly beta-ing the next Hufflefic should message me! I’ll happily give more info about the story and a more thorough list of TWs.
Ok, love you all and hope everyone is staying safe and sane in these trying times 💖
The final chapter and epilogue of ‘The Moon That Breaks’ are now on AO3!
Thank you from my the bottom of my heart to everyone who has read, boosted, shared, and left comments on this fic! I can’t wait to hear what you all think of the finale :D

So, funny story. A year ago, I was flirting with an idea for a multi-chapter sequel to my fic The Other Side of Sorrow . This fic was supposed to be a sort of bridge between/prequel to that storyline. When I fell out of love with that idea and decided not to write it, I completely forgot that this fic even existed and it languished in my Google Drive for months and months! That original idea is really unlikely to ever be written at this point, but as it turns out, this fic serves just as well as a sort of epilogue/send-off to these boys!
(I’d recommend reading all the fics in my ‘Snape Dies AU’ in sequence to prevent getting spoiled/confused!)
Coming soon to an AO3 near you, another hella long, hella angsty wolfstar fic from yours truly! The Moon That Breaks is a fic set in 1977, when the Marauders are sixth-years at Hogwarts. Remus and Sirius are a recently established couple, still very much in the honeymoon stage. But when a bit of hormonally-motivated irresponsibility winds up with Sirius being bitten and infected by Remus, there’s devastating fallout. My take on a werewolf!Sirius AU is angsty and introspective, full of self-loathing, mutual pining, internalized prejudice, and coping with the aftermath of trauma and lots of other fun stuff like that. Not to mention character loyalties shifting in the crucible of oncoming war, a good deal of brooding chainsmoking, and lots of wolfstar feels set to so much ‘70s music that some scenes bear a resemblance to the songfics of yore.
Keep an eye out for Chapter One later this week!

SNEAK PEEK:
Remus rolled onto his left side and said to the velvet hangings, in the same soft voice he might have used if Sirius were laying in the bed with him, “You haven’t lost your best mate.”
For a second of simultaneous relief and disappointment, he thought that Sirius had already fallen asleep and had not actually heard him, but then came the small squeak of bedsprings and Remus knew Sirius had turned towards him. His heart lurched painfully in his chest over boundary the bed hangings made, over the small and yet vast distance between them, “Unless you mean Prongs, and I know you don’t,” Sirius said, haltingly, “I sort of have. I… you haven’t said ten words to me, Moony, since…” there was a soft rustle as Sirius fidgeted, admitted, “I miss you, you wanker.”
“I miss you, too,” Remus responded immediately, hoping his breathless voice wouldn’t bely just how much, just how desperately, he did.
“You know, when I first found out you were a werewolf,” Sirius said, his voice uncharacteristically small in the darkness, “I accepted it. Immediately. Even with all the bigoted rubbish I’d heard against werewolves my entire life. I,” he hesitated so long Remus thought he might have given up on finishing the sentence, and then he tacked on, brokenly, “I didn’t think you’d reject me over the same, if it were the other way 'round.”
“Sirius,” Remus said, his hands fisting in his blankets against the urge to clamber out of bed and go kiss some sense into him, “That’s not what happened.”
“I s’pose it’s not,” Sirius admitted, lightly, without conviction, “But it feels rather like crap either way.”
