So I give you mortal billy and fae!Steve.
Steve is hiding in plain sight and does his best to protect himself. He keeps all iron and certain herbs out of the house so he can’t be burned or hurt. He can’t help but steal tiny little things from friends and lovers that he likes. He has little Rowan charms around the place for protection. D he uses his magic to hide his big pretty wings.
Nobody has noticed Steve until Billy who can see through steves magic and notices Steve for what he is.

Which really fits the moment Billy marches over furniture in the Halloween party to get a better look at the man with wings on the backdrop of Tina's stain glass front doors.
