Human Harry Chapter 2/2: A bag of kibble

In five weeks he had taken her to five different restaurants. She had expected they were thinly-veiled date attempts but then the restaurants were wonderful, he would talk about the streets surrounding the restaurant and suggest things on the menu. It was a nice combination that she was getting to know him and the neighbourhood simultaneously.

He was charming, if a little reserved at first, but with a smoothness that could not be taught. Perhaps it was because they had the same sense of humour and the conversation flowed so freely between them.

Sunday Snippet - Vampire Louis/Human Harry AU

This is a snippet from the fic I’m working on for @1dfantasyficfest

I’m having so much fun writing this I thought I’d share!

Louis stares down at the baby pink mug that’s been sat in front of him. The drink is a light beige color, looks very thick, and is topped with a huge dollop of whipped cream that’s dotted with sugary pink sprinkles that match the color of the mug.

It’s definitely not what Louis ordered.

Then again it rarely is. It’s a pattern that has been developing for the last several months. Louis comes into the cafe nearly every afternoon, he orders a black coffee, and he gets served whatever it is the barista feels like making him.

Louis stares down at the pink monstrosity as he pulls a packet of cigarettes out of his back pocket. Just as Louis lights up, the barista in question seems to materialize in front of him on the other side of the counter.

Harry uses one finger to slide a crystal ashtray across the glass top until it sits right next to Louis’ mug. There’s an annoyed expression etched into his pretty little face. It contrasts sharply with the delicate floral printed ribbon tied in his short curls.

“Smoking isn’t allowed in here you know? Not sure what gives you the audacity to think you’re better than anyone else.”

It’s amazing how such a venomous tone can come out of such a sweet looking package. Louis can’t help but smirk. He can’t remember the last time anyone had the courage to speak to him like that, least of all a human.

After all, there are some perks to being the oldest and most feared Vampire in London.

Usually.

But it appears that Louis’ power and fear tactics don’t stand a chance against cute and feisty little human baristas with an apparent death wish.

"It's alright, we've got everything we need. We will be fine."

But Louis shook his head.

"No, it's not that. I don't feel well."

Harry bit his bottom lip, hard. "The babies?"

"No, they're not moving, I just... I don't know, something is wrong. I think I need to lay down, alright?"

The winter growls loud and mean outside as Harry Styles comes home to his precious Louis.
