I'm going to assume these were coming from the dnd character ask meme you made, at least I hope so because otherwise I don't remember.
2) What's their current hairstyle? Has it changed? Do they change it often?
Hunk usually wears his hair tied back in a high ponytail for ease in combat, but he's also a peacock who loves decoration, so he's constantly collecting colorful beads and ribbons to weave into his long locks. He used to wear his hair in a braid a lot when he was younger, because it was a morning ritual for his mother to braid it for him before breakfast. As he got older, Hunk would braid his younger siblings' hair for them instead, and it's a routine that he's missed ever since he left home.
10) Would they sneak out at night to look at the sky? How long would they stay there looking?
Hunk is definitely the kind of person who will lie on the roof of his home late at night, staring up at the stars for hours and untangling his thoughts about whatever has happened over the course of the day. He's always at his calmest when he's out in nature, so a starlit night would be the perfect thing to help center him. As for how long he's stay out stargazing, he'd stay at least until he got cold, and maybe even a little longer after that. There have absolutely been summer nights where one of his mothers would have to come up and get Hunk because he fell asleep on the roof.
15) What's a sound they can't stand?
Ever since a draconic encounter when Hunk was 19, the sound of loud flapping wings have always been a guaranteed way to make him uncomfortable and panicked. His more recent dreams definitely haven't helped with that particular discomfort.
So @dorsalfin made a dnd character ask meme and I love the vibes, but half of my dnd group doesn’t have tumblr. So I had my bf Steven give me questions that he wanted to hear the answers to for my character in his campaign, Hunk the half orc druid!
4) Would your character sing along to a vaguely familiar song, even if they messed up the lyrics as they went?
Absolutely! Hunk will happily sing off key and mutter through lyrics he doesn’t know when singing songs, especially if he’s in a good mood. If he lived in the modern day, he would constantly be leading car ride sing-alongs.
8) Are their hands steady?
Not always- I feel like Hunk is a very fidgety person by nature, his hands are always moving either playing with the friendship bracelets around his wrists or tapping absently on nearby surfaces. The only times he’s able to keep his hands totally steady are in the midst of battle or when he’s patching up peoples’ wounds, when he’s laser focused on the task immediately in front of him.
9) If someone gave them flowers, what would they do with them?
Hunk is used to being the one giving others flowers, so if he was given some he’d be extremely flattered. He’d probably want to keep them with him and so he’d press them into the pages of his journal.
10) Would they sneak out at night to look at the sky? How long would they stay there looking?
This is absolutely something Hunk has done before many times, climbing into trees or up onto the roof of his family’s cottage to stare at the stars and feel at peace. There were definitely nights in his youth where he’d stay up there until he’d fall asleep and one of his mothers would have to come up to get him.
11) How do they feel about casual endearments? (Babe, etc)
Hunk is a person who’s very used to using casual endearments himself and often calls his other party members “darling”, but I feel like someone else using casual endearments back at him would throw him a bit. He’d appreciate it after a moment of surprise, but he doesn’t expect the affection that he casually gives to other people to be immediately returned.
13) What helps them fall asleep when they're having trouble doing so?
On nights when Hunk has trouble sleeping, how he decides to deal with it depends on the weather. If it’s warm enough outside, he’ll sleep outside and let the sounds of nature at night relax him enough to fall asleep. Or, if it’s too cold outside to comfortably do that or he’s just feeling particularly cuddly, he’ll wild shape into a small furry creature like a cat or dog and then curl up with someone willing to cuddle.
17) Do they fidget? How and/or with what?
Yesss, I answered this a bit already but Hunk is almost constantly fidgeting. He definitely does the ADHD Leg Bounce when he has to sit still (and you’d better believe he doesn’t sit properly in any chair ever), otherwise he’s fidgeting with his bracelets or tapping his fingers or playing with his hair by braiding and unbraiding small sections of it.
18) Would they sing a lullaby, if the opportunity arose?
Hunk has definitely sung lullabies for his siblings before, especially his two youngest sisters, so if the opportunity arose where singing someone to sleep could help them, I think Hunk wouldn’t hesitate to do so.
20) Do they like to keep plants/growing things in their space?
For sure! As the son of an alchemist with a druid stepmom, Hunk has been very used to having plants growing in his home his whole life. He’s comfortable with it to the point where not having the constant vegetation around himself now that he’s on the road adventuring has been hard for him to get used to.
22) When they speak, do they have a default tone of voice? If yes, do they try to change it? Why?
I don’t think that he intentionally does, but Hunk’s default tone of voice is probably like. Casual and just this side of flirtatious? He aims to be calm and disarming with his general demeanor, so that the people he interacts with are more at ease.
27) Do they write often? Why/what about?
He does write pretty often, mostly letters to his family or jotting down notes and details about his adventures in his journal so that he doesn’t forget them. One of my long term goals for playing Hunk is to write at least one letter per level or narrative beat, so that I can have a long running record of him and his feelings to look back on.
31) Did they climb all over/onto things as a kid?
I think that he did at first, when he was really little, and it was quite the exercise of Shawna’s patience and dexterity to make sure that her little half orc didn’t create any disasters in her small apothecary. Eventually once he got a bit older, she was able to teach him exactly what areas of her work space to avoid and what times he would have to sit still while she was working, so that her rambunctious son would be safe while he played.
33) Where are they in a group hug? (Dead center, outside, etc)
Hunk is definitely a group hug initiator, so he’d be near the middle of the group, pulling as many people into his orbit as possible.
34) What's the first thing they think when they hear an alarm? What's the first thing they do?
The first thing Hunk thinks of when he hears an alarm is the people immediately around him- his friends and any innocents. He’d think of getting them to safety from whatever is setting off said alarm, and thus his first actions would be threat assessment, figuring out what is setting off alarms and why and getting people out of harm’s way.
35) Do they sing with their head voice or their chest voice?
Chest voice! I’m not going to lie, it’s been ages since I was in choir so I didn’t remember the difference at first, but I definitely imagine Hunk having more of a baritone singing voice.
39) Do they keep working even when their wrists start to cramp? If they do, do they give themselves a break when the work is done?
I think that depends on Hunk’s level of interest and focus on what he’s doing, because if it’s something simple or boring then Hunk can easily disengage and give himself a break. But I think that Hunk definitely does the hyper focus thing like I do, so if he’s writing a long letter or making jewelry then he’ll easily lose track of time and surface an hour later with sever cramps in his wrists.
41) What's the silliest thing they've used magic to do? If they don't have magic, what's something silly they'd use it for if they did?
Hunk has absolutely used his wild shape to play pranks on his siblings. I made a Choice at the beginning of the game that all of Hunk’s wild shapes would be green a la Beast Boy. So when he was first learning to turn into animals, he’d become something small like a cat and use his green fur to hide in the underbrush so that he could sneak up on his brother and sisters.
