the job was unlike any he had ever accepted. sworn under sacred oath to keep himself hidden from both the theives and the precious cargo. at first, he wasn’t sure that it was the job for him – far more emotionally demanding than physical. he was hired to be a friend, a confidant, a shoulder to cry on. all while keeping an eye out for danger. one hand bending his ear to better hear her while the other is placed strategically on a weapon. he hadn’t felt guilty in the beginning, merely an employee clocking in to dreary monotony day by day – until it no longer felt that way. he began looking forward to seeing her, unscheduled and unprompted. tonight, however, was calculated. although she had asked him to attend all on her own, he would have made an appearance either way. ❛ wow, you look – ❜ he whistles like a cartoon character, eyes probably bugging like one too. ❛ incredible. ❜
