The words were not registering and he was sure it was more than evident on his face. How many times were they supposed to play this game? Run in this circle? Some part of him would always feel connected to her - if not for their son, than for the guilt he felt for everything he put her through. What happened between them was both of their faults, and they shared the blame equally. Hunter had long apologized for his many, many sins against her...though it was doubtful that any apology would truly be enough. These days the woman he had once loved was always trying to manipulate him, and nothing was done without some kind of ulterior motive.
