Funny enough, this part of the island feels a lot like home. It must be something in the architecture, the way the air feels, the people milling back and forth. If she closed her eyes and opened them again, she wouldn’t be surprised to see a familiar face standing in front of her. It’s kind of nice, actually.
Even some of the smells are the same. There’s no point in wandering on an empty stomach, so a quick bite wouldn’t hurt.
Makoto pushes open the door with a smile. “Rev up those fryers, because I am hungry fo- oh.” Someone else is trying to exit. It’s not someone she wanted to see. For a moment, the two are silent.
"Nevermind,” says Makoto, walking backwards and pulling the door closed.
