Idea for a story

i’m actually starting to formulate my plans for him and Hanamaki in the space priate au. they both come from rather tragic backgrounds, but where Hanamaki is more “let’s keep moving forward and don’t think about the past,” Matsukawa is more contemplative and tends to dwell on things which can get him down ;;; there’s still some growth there in his and Hanamaki’s relationship, despite how close they start out

The first thing Kuroo notices about Sawamura Daichi is that wherever he goes, there are flowers.

And that’s all twenty of them! Almost all (but one) the Haikyuu fics I have on ao3. To absolutely no one’s surprise, it’s almost all kurodai.

Looking at the list, I guess I’d say that I like to establish setting in the first line? Time, date, place, weather conditions, and all that. Also, when Kuroo is the narrator and he hasn’t gotten together with Daichi yet, Daichi is mentioned as “Sawamura Daichi” (this happens in three fics I can spot) haha. The rest are pretty common I guess, beginning in media res or starting with dialogue, etc.

If there are any patterns you can spot that escapes me feel free to tell me about them! :D

Hope you're feeling better! Here's a random joke (one of my favorites for the groans it usually induces): Three men are in a boat in the middle of the ocean. They have four cigarettes between them, and want a quick smoke. None of them had a match or a fire source with them though. So they threw a cigarette overboard and the whole boat became a cigarette lighter.

mmm proooobably when the alien General said that Tooru was beaten because “He was, as you humans say, ‘being an ass.’” and Hajime’s like, that’s fair ahaha

though honestly I think the fic is full of little gems of dialogue ahaha i had a lot of fun with this piece XD

Something in the weird category: let's assume you can live forever, but for every extra year you live past 30, you forfeit a year of your earliest memories (so if you live until 31, you'll forget, say, all your memories when you were 5; when you're 32, you forfeit all your memories when you were 6, etc. etc). How old will you allow yourself to live until? *gives you a chocochip cookie*

wow 30 is pretty young for a cut-off date o.O i’d say it’d make more sense, if you can live forever, that the cut-off would be closer to the time you’d actually die . . . unless you mean live forever by stop aging? so you don’t age past 30 . . . in that case i’d say a year is a lot to give up . . . you’d lose everything up to when you turned 30 by the time you’re 60 . . . doesn’t really seem worth it tbh

besides, your memories and experiences are part of what shape you as a person; you kind of lose your identity when you lose your past, right?
