ok but like imagine this AU fic scenario where you’re best friends with one of the phantom troupe members (let’s say machi) and she never tells you she’s in the phantom troupe. most of the time when you ask her to hang out she usually says “i’m busy with work today”, and since you guys have been best friends for YEARS you totally understand. you guys will forever be best friends, and no matter how long you don’t see eachother for, every time you two hang out again you always pick up from where you’ve left off. however, you eventually go about your life, and after a while you end up meeting your soulmate in yorknew city. like, you guys are meant to be together, and y’all end up seriously falling in love. his name is kurapika. after a while, you and kurapika become so close you end up talking to eachother about everything. he ALWAYS tells you about “the spiders”, about how he loathes them with all his being, and how he wishes to execute them all for stealing his brethren’s eyes. you learn to hate the spiders as well. seeing kurapika so upset over what they did to him and his family makes you enraged every time he talks about it. eventually, you tell machi you want her to meet your boyfriend who you never got to talk about because she’s always busy with “work”. so, they eventually meet. and shit. goes. down.
