Insomnia
Klaus sleeps like the fucking dead. That’s always been a headcanon of mine lol. He’s a heavy sleeper -- when he sleeps. He doesn’t necessarily need to sleep but does so when he can/when vampire nightly activities. His sleeping schedule has become pretty regular since he’s not really doing anything other than being a daddy at the current :3
Question
I think Klaus doubts himself a lot more than people realize. He’s arrogant but that really just covers up the fact that he really has no confidence in himself. I mean there’s a lot to be said about spending a thousand years getting what he wants and coming out of a war as the victor but I think a lot of people fail to realize that at the very basis of who he is, Klaus does not like himself. He has little to no sense of self-confidence or self-worth. And why should he? He’s been taught all his life that he’s an abomination, his very existence is shameful both because he’s a bastard and a werewolf. He created this Klaus facade and it became his reputation because all he really knew about himself was that he was hated. So yeah, I think Klaus is an EXCELLENT tactician and he’s incredibly intelligent and his paranoia has its perks but that’s something about him that’s been fostered and created by spending a thousand years simply trying to survive. It’s not something that existed right off the bat & if we boil him down, I think know we find a man who doubts himself constantly but has learned to push that doubt away because he’s been lucky time & time again. & for someone who has no sense of value in himself, luck means EVERYTHING.
Zodiac
Klaus’ birthday isn’t known (none of the Originals’ birthdays are). But from the TVD S2 flashbacks the episode Joseph begins his reign as Klaus, they start off celebrating his birthday. Now whether that’s true or it was just a ruse i have no idea but the flashback of Katherine and Elijah outside, there aren’t any leaves on the trees which made me think fall or winter and I like fall more so I decided Klaus’ birthday would be in October. He’s a Scorpio and his moon sign is Aries and they both fit mhmmm
