The Lunar Dial is an ancient magical object used by assassins, spies and overall tricksters. Because of this the very nature of the object has been shrouded in layers of secrecy as to it's exact abilities, limits and even appearance. The pocket watch that Sakuya consults is not the Lunar Dial but a decoy. The actual object requires no input to be used, only intent and direct contact. Even the name is misleading as it has no dials or faces anywhere on it but appears more as a simple pendant.

📻The original Lunar Dial was originally meant as a gift for Kaguya from Eirin to help her out while she alone was on Earth, however Kaguya lost it in transit and it would wind up centuries later in Sakuya’s hands.

Building on previous HC: The almost universal youkai glamour of Gensokyou is an effect caused by the barrier. Any youkai within the boundary, even those with no skill at illusion magic, may create an altered appearance for themselves if they have the presence of mind to do so.
