the pandemic was worst thing that has ever happened to the internet and to fandom spaces especially ... i hate that normies have taken over fandom spaces on so many sites and will genuinely tell you the most disguting and hateful things if you headcanon a character as gay which is, like, level 1 of online fandom. i hate that people will start harassment campaigns and/or visciously mock artists for weeks at a time just because they think their art is ugly. i hate that manners and etiquette have evaporated and people treat free fanworks as something they are owed instead of genuine labors of love from the artist that take time and effort. i hate that genuinely trying to analyze and think deeply about a piece of work you love is seen as either a useless endeavor you deserve to be shamed for because "its not that deep" or seen as you vehemently hating that work because you maybe think some things were handled worse than they could be. i hate the state of things here. i want to go back
