The features of spirals that work for me:
Goes in, not out. Spirals that scroll out usually snap me out of it once my eyesight hits the edge of the screen. Going in I’ll just… keep going in
Light warbling of motion. Like the rate of the spinning changing throughout. Not too much but enough variety to keep me engaged
Colors changing but not being too bright.
Words or images flashing throughout. These can be overlaid or spliced in but if a single word or image is blazened on top the whole time, I lose interest.
The more it looks like it was designed after real optical illusions the less I’m interested. I seem to like basic spirals or concentric circles or…
Weird interface type hypnosis. Dials turning down, loading screens, these get me going FAST. But they’re really rare so I almost never see them.
In short, I have ADHD.
Sure hope no one uses this against me.
