Day 1 - Prompt #94 - Necklace
Hytham peeks into the leather pouch and huffs a laugh, making Basim turn, eyebrow raised. "All that trouble for this trinket," Hytham says. "Just some metal and bits of glass."
"Gold is more than just 'some metal'," Basim quips, sounding amused, "but I see your point." He leans forward and plucks the necklace from Hytham's fingers.
"A blade made of gold would be useless," Hytham adds, watching the coloured lights reflected off the glass shift and gleam on Basim's face.
"True," Basim murmurs, and then his eyes are on him, dark and steady. "But a weapon is not always more valuable than a thing of beauty."
A breathless pause, their gazes caught. Then Hytham grins, and brushes a bit of dust off of Basim's cheek with his thumb, "True."
