daily orca 86: Sonya

sonya is a 13 year old orca living at chimelong spaceship. she is a russian transient, and was captured from the sea of okhotsk in july 2015. after capture, sonya and katenka, who sonya was likely captured with, were moved to the TINRO center in russia where they met the orcas already living there. three months later, sonya and katenka were flown to chimelong ocean kingdom in china.
in 2016, the ocean kingdom pod was moved to the facility's breeding base, after which they were revealed to the public. in june 2023, sonya and the others were transferred to chimelong spaceship.
on march 3rd, 2026, it was announced that sonya gave birth to her first calf, a daughter named liu long.
