whenever he found himself around roman, it was hard not to wonder back to when they had first met. back then the situation wasn’t the greatest and honestly it still wasn’t at the worst of times. the constant clashes that happened between one another had become something that could only be described as a daily chore. it was annoying and sometimes uncomfortable (if that was the correct word), but it was a part of their life now.
dongmin knew he was the instigator for most of their clashes, but it was hard for him not to when he thought about who roman was and what he did for a living. just the sheer fact that roman was a blood witch made dongmin concerned about why he was even attempting to remain friends with him, but it was as if there was something else there, something he could see past towards better things. the thought was stupid at worst and ridiculous at best.
“you’re just like i thought… trash,” sounded dongmin, burying his face in his hands, almost in defeat. based on the language, it was safe to assume it was another one of their ‘fights’. the common occurrence of these types of encounters was staggering, they probably occurred more than a regular conversation. the worrying part was this time nothing really set it off, dongmin was just in the mood for some drama, apparently. he was the type that liked to think he could could people, but that was far from the case.
“you know sometimes i think you might actually be a decent human being, but then you go and fuck it up! the amount of times i think, oh he’s a good guy.. oh, there’s this redeemable quality about him.. i just think to myself, he’s got no morals, he’s wasting his time playing with blood of all things when he could be drawing some shit on a piece of paper.. then there’s also the mention of you providing services, because why? no morals.. it’s ridiculous”
at this point, there may of been a few alcoholic beverages consumed for the both of them. the worst part was that their fights usually occurred in public, much to the dismay of the people around them. dongmin was always the one to get quite heated in this types of conversations. it usually resulted in him standing around, throwing his arms around in an exaggerated motion, as if to try and get his point across. if he even had one to begin with.
there was always one passerby who came to confront dongmin, asking if he was okay. “am i okay? i’ll tell you how i’m doing… not well bitch,” he would always express, the venom in his tone always being pointed towards roman and never the innocent party. it was as if dongmin became much more unhinged when he got a little tipsy, as this wasn’t usually the way he would express himself sober.
it would always escalate into more insults thrown between the two parties, perhaps more from dongmin as the mere thought of roman being a blood witch would cause his heart to race at a thousand beats per second. his emotions would always get the better of him, relating roman to things that he shouldn’t. in the end there wasn’t really anything either one of them could do but to just drop it entirely, which hardly ever happened.
“you know what… fuck you. i don’t ever want to see you ever again,” roman would always exclaim at the end of the row, obviously wanting to wash his hands with him. who could blame him though?
ultimately, it would always end in dongmin attempting to get the last word in before storming off from both roman himself and the conversation. the next time they would meet would always be in a weird place. as if knowing that there was still tension between them but attempting to get along with each other. plus, sober dongmin was always a step above tipsy dongmin in pretty much all aspects. they would greet each other with smiles, holding back whatever needed to be said until next time.
