Hey, Happy STS! You asked me a great question, so I’m going to ask it back: what song encapsulates your wip, and what was the line that convinced you?

Howdy and Happy STS! also thank you c; I like talking about music in relation to WIPs so I assumed everyone else would; glad you did!

I’m gonna go with ‘The Cave’ by Mumford and Sons for my most recent WIP. I’ve talked about it a fair bit here but it’s. A very good song. It sounds regretful and sombre and yet it can be super duper upbeat and almost motivating? Like, yeah, life sucks, but there’s a chance there, a small hope in an otherwise bleak place.

The line that really snapped me was ‘So make your sirens song / and sing all you want / I will not hear what you have to say’ which made me sit up and go ‘holy shit this is a WIP song’ - in this WIP, there are people born with an ability that makes their speech extremely persuasive in any language they’re fluent in. I won’t say much for fear of spoilers, but there’s a bit where two people with this ability meet, and both realise something else about what this gift/curse does c;

You know... in the first drafts of the All-Seeing-Eye, I don’t think Dangus liked kids... Now he loves them, and is becoming even more likable that way (and he was already pretty likable)... I should really let Mariah from KHInsider read this draft: she’d probably fall for Dangus even more than she already did. Haha.

Also, I’ve now rewritten a bit more than ten-thousand words of this novel. Yay! Only ninety-thousand more to go... If it ends up being as long as the original, I mean. It could end up shorter... but knowing me, it’ll end up longer. -cries-
