⌦ @facedtogether · EDI sent › Alerted EDI left the bridge to retreat to the crew deck shortly after receiving a particular search request from Liara's terminal. It couldn't wait to meet the Asari in person without having to later block the delivery of those results to avoid Jeff becoming distracted so she made her way down to the Shadow Broker's room. "May I come in doctor T'Soni?" The synthetic requested entrance over the comm before she stepped inside the room.
Liara, devoted to her search, potentially sent information through the Normandy’s, EDI’s, Database; it wasn’t her original intention–only sorting files that would provide details for aid. Nonetheless, information slipped, some crucial–important–but should not be forwarded? The Asari struggles with morality acknowledging benevolence in speaking up, yet the disaster it would stir. Liara, herself, familiar with the ongoing tragedies that have scattered across the Galaxy. These Reapers knew, nor accepted, any sense of mercy. It is bitter, brutal and leaves her with a sense of disdain and hopelessness. Liara dared not to show it, but there were moments she’d cave.
Distracted, the Broker did not catch onto EDI’s voice—not until the door spun open and her companion crossed its threshold. Blue eyes catch, but Liara had to double-take, nodding for her permission. “EDI,” she greets, halting her fingers from their task; pulling away from the databanks. Liara’s mind races for a moment, it occurs to her that she may have tipped the AI off in her research.
“Is there something you need?” Liara inquired, offering some leeway for EDI to speak; seeing if that is why the individual came to speak. She knows how devastating it would be, if Joker were to read the reports from Alliance Space—about tiptree, his family. The Asari accepts the consequences, regardless on what is decided. They cannot afford to lose Joker, not now. If she has to be painted as careless, so be it. “I apologize for that surge of information through your database, some of the reports had gotten away from me.”
