i’m writing up a summary ( lol ) post about my canon divergencies and my interpretation of regina and how it varies from the series, and i’m up to the part about how regina is both a victim and a villain and how if your character provokes her, she will react accordingly and i won’t ask permission to do so before hand. and it’s just making me think about how. you see people talk about how they want more villains or the “bad guy” of the fandom to be written against their hero protagonist, but almost everyone who writes those characters seem to only ever use their villains to confront them about something or other, and it’s almost like this universally accepted idea that that character should just sit there and take it as if they don’t know what they did and as if they wouldn’t or couldn’t do it again. if your character intentionally provokes a notoriously volatile or dangerous character, do not be surprised if that notoriously volatile or dangerous character retaliates. they are not there to be written as punching bags for the so - called “good guy” and i, for one, will not write regina as such. i said what i said.
