i don’t mean to get on a high horse here. but i think if you’re playing a character of color you kind of have an obligation to write them as people of color rather than just a white person with a face claim of color. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ like tbh there are a million reasons why your character might not be as connected to their culture. adopted by white people. biracial and raised by the white parent. orphaned young. or hell second generation immigrants are notoriously cut off from their culture in an attempt to assimilate the children. a - that should probably be talked about in a head canon. and b - like your character is still going to struggle with things being a person of color that they wouldn’t if they were white. racism is pervasive as shit, and REGARDLESS of class, nationality, or connection to culture a character of color will experience that !!
