Also, look what my friend @yusei2you wrote for this scene!!!!
Aki felt her legs get swollen as she sat in the plane with unknown hours pass by, she slowly bent down to massage them.
Her red shoes squeezing her feet made it even worse, but she was comfortable in walking in them. She didn’t really mind in what she wore, she just wanted to come home. Home was where her parents and friends were and where her whole life was.
But there was that one person that was on her mind all this time. He was her home when she felt home sickness, he was always there for her when she needed him. They would talk on skype, they could see each other’s faces and hear each other’s voices. She knew that he was her first friend in her whole life. A friend that didn’t betray her, leave her or use her. He was the reason why she was so excited to come back home.
She was happy, a lot of people say they feel butterflies when they are happy, excited or in love. She didn’t feel that, she felt like her heart was on the verge of exploding, something warm crawling inside her chest.
She wanted to come home and smell all the air she has been missing, she wanted to eat her all favorite foods, she wanted to see the people she knew, her parents, friends and Yusei.
She wasn’t sure if Yusei was waiting for her, but she knew she will see him, she missed him so much that she wanted to open the airplane door and just go.
Aki then noticed that the plane was lowering itself down, she turned to the small window next to her and saw a beautiful sight.
The huge sun was setting, leaving the clouds in orange with a touch of light pink. Aki loved sunsets, it made her feel at ease.
She remembered those days she felt sad, she would call Yusei and he would always calm her down, if weren’t for him she would never get so far in her life, emotionally.
She didn’t know how she managed in a country that was all new to her and all alone but she always had Yusei checking on her. How often she though he would soon forget her but her mind fooled her. He was the same, not once he stopped chatting to her, listening to her whenever she was happy and sad.
The plane finally touched the ground with a little rough landing which Aki did not seem to be startled, she was used to it. She was glad she would soon walk out and meet her parents. She slowly stood up because she knew her body was stiff and oh she was tired, so tired.
Grabbing her bags, she walked out of the plane. She stopped to grasp the feeling in the air, the feeling that went by her as people walked in many directions. She looked around, everything looked so familiar, the shops, the food and she could even smell the strong coffee lingering in the air.
Her stomach growled as if to say, feed me. She knew she was so tired and hungry, but she wanted to see Yusei so badly before she could eat or sleep. She wanted to fulfill her heart.
When she got all her bags, she turned to walk faster to the exit. Her legs were so painful and she was so weak that she knew she was nearly there. Her hair and face were messy and dry, she didn’t care. As soon as she was close to the siding doors, she saw how many people stood there, waiting. She watched as some people ran to each other, hugging and crying. She watched as some people leaving with wet tears in their eyes. She watched as people gave each other handshakes and she watched as others giving kisses. So many emotions ran in the air as she walked passed many people.
Her eyes scanning through the crowd, searching for her parents. She didn’t know how long she was walking, searching for two familiar faces.
She walked passed huge windows and the sunset was still there. The whole building was greeted by the sunset, this was a perfect timing to come home to.
As she turned her head slowly to the right, her legs stopped moving.
There he was, standing few steps away from her.
He grew slightly taller, his eyes were a little big and his hair was still the same. He didn’t change so much in her eyes, he still had that warm and kind look in his eyes.
People seemed to have move away from him as she saw him more clearly but soon her eyes started getting blurry from the tears.
He moved his arms up as to give her a hug and he smiled. He never smiled like that, it was so like him.
She dropped her bags and She didn’t feel tired anymore as her legs began to take huge steps, she was running towards him and in that moment, she jumped.
She felt like she was flying towards him. His arms were out stretched, ready to catch her. Tears flew in the air, passed her flying skirt and he caught her. She felt her whole body push him slightly backwards but he held her tightly. She squeezed her face into his neck as his face came in contact with her shoulder.
They stayed like that for a while, capturing each other’s presence. Aki could could feel his warmth, his strong arms holding her tightly and she could feel his breath against her cheeks. She missed his hugs and she missed his presence. She didn’t want to let go.
Yusei felt his heart beat fast as he catched her and held her in his arms. Her hair all over his face and his cheek was smudged with her tears, he didn’t care. He held her as she cried and he too cried. He missed her, he always loved being there for her and always enjoyed her presence. She laughed and cried while he hugged her.
Moments passed and they moved apart, they eyes met. He gently cupped her face and wiped her tears, “welcome home, Aki.”
She stared into his eyes, his dark blue eyes. She always loved his eyes and if she could, she would stare into his eyes forever. She smiled at his words and more tears fell ran down her cheeks.
He turned around and pointed to the sliding doors where her parents were, they waved as they saw her. They had tears in their eyes and they started making their way to her.
“Mama, Papa”
She was so happy, she looked from her dad to her mom and then to Yusei.
They smiled at her and then she felt her heart full, this is what she wanted.
She never imagined herself ever coming this far in her life, yet she did.
Her parents carried her bags as she held onto Yusei’s arm. Tears was still there and she laughed because she was happy.
As the walked towards the exit, the sunset touched their backs.
