The internal functions of the former Praefectus were compromised. Some systems were attempting to reinstate the Loyalty files while the more human pieces of Revarik were trying to maintain its state of independence. The inner warfare had begun to affect his everyday life. In some cases, he wasn’t even able to respond to another as he would have liked to. The machinations working beneath the surface prevented as much and it was the most evident to him when he was confronted by Neheon and her farewell.

At times it was the machine speaking. The modus operandi of the civilian coding designated certain responses. Control was limited and it was as if he was operating in a safe-mode. He could feel. He could watch. He couldn’t react. This had occurred before when a certain troublemaker of the empire had attempted to hijack the Loyalty asset. Though, since then much had changed and other steps had been taken to prevent the gears of the war machine from cycling.

Lately, day by day more recovery measures were being selected and performed to return the Loyalty soldier to its base template. It was a scene that several were watching unfold. The most common question: Are you okay? -- came with a very standard and unemotional response: All systems functional, zero damage sustained, system check verified. Yet, behind that umbra eye was a man screaming with rage to get out of the prison his own body had become.

Some had considered the consequences he was undergoing part of the sequence Caelric had initialized during the rescue of Ruka from the Queen Drowned. Vielynne was not as convinced, but her efforts had turned up little results. She knew being too close could cause problems, but remaining too far would reduce the chances of overcoming the machine. Her protective nature over her Lion was conflicted knowing that she was not the only one aware of his current struggles. 

She too could see through the eyes of Revarik’s observer. An unlikely individual, but one as close to the man as any other could become. In the dark, he stayed watching his older brother endure knowing quite well what it meant to be a victim within one's own body. This was a moment of weakness, and as the fly on the wall to several recent events as of late, he knew it could only invite more trouble. 

Son of a shadow, son of a machine, you know what is in the blood, the destiny. Take them off, take them off, and perform the deed. Let me free, let me free, I can stop the suffering he bleeds. You can hear the howls beyond the silenced voice, the screams of torment unheard without a choice. Think about it, dear boy, make your move soon. Free yourself of these troubles and with your brother, I can commune.

Eventually, the blanket of darkness fell from around Iados as he drew closer to his taller sibling. The weakened shackles on his hands were offered forth and for the briefest of moments eye contact between the two was made. Revarik’s red optic blazed while its obsidian companion registered the motion.

What They Would Be Famous For: The name Iados Valanthius is practically an unknown in the world. However, the Jackal alias, is an urban legend around La Noscea renown for a set of rules in a game that revolves around life and death. A sequence of events more commonly referred to the Jackal's games.

Talents and/or Powers: Iados is extremely quick and he utilizes a game of smoke and mirrors to throw off his adversaries. Being evasive is an understatement. He has often thought of twenty various ways to kill someone before they realize they are a target. He is also quite agile equipping his style with parkour movements and linguistic riddles to antagonize his victim.

Why Someone Might Love Them: The Jackal is a creature of solitude with flaws that dive richly into who he is. Part of those imperfections is the drive to understand who he is with and if a connection is made then he fends off their personal demons with his own. He is a strong ally to have and his methodical process of problem-solving often equip the unprepared for what is to come.

Why Someone Might Hate Them: Evasive. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, and cerebrally. Rare is the day that he makes eye contact and he can talk himself in circles to make it seem like he has answered every single question without giving anything away. He is also very much the shadow you look for over your shoulder when walking through dark alleys because you feel like you're being followed.

How They Change: Iados is very quiet to anyone that doesn't know him. He is content to watch and observe to get a strong understanding of what is going on around him and what is happening. In the beginning, he wouldn't communicate outside of rhyme and riddle, but has since altered his courses due to a certain blonde. He has gone from being worthless in his eyes to proving himself time and time again despite the difficulties in accepting that truth.

Why You Love Them: Iados is the most difficult character for me to play because of who he is and what he represents. He is a neutral kind of character and his perspective is always changing. Though, he is very resilient and as often as he wishes to give up... he doesn't. He has an internal strength that I look to in order to overcome adversity no matter how stacked the odds are. He will find a way. He will always find a way.
