💫🖤 N O life matters until E V E R Y life matters 🖤💫 . I spent a long time thinking about what would be the best way to express how the recent weeks have made me feel + even more so, how to express it as an artist. Since I was a young girl, I always had an inner *knowing* that we were all created equal. One race or gender is not above the other, but rather we are meant to all connect, to work together to bring about unity. Perhaps this is why I’ve had sleepless nights + painful days. As an empath, I am feeling every painful jab being inflicted upon humanity. We have allowed a media to control our very opinions, and for what? What do we have to show for it but more organized hate, anger + strategic division tactics. When you see things from this bird’s eye perspective, things begin to make a lot more sense. When you realize it is not a battle of races, but a battle of good vs evil, you begin to see the importance of U N I T Y. No life matters until we can acknowledge that we, as humanity ALL matter. Every single one of us. Every life matters. This is why I needed to create these necklaces, in hopes of spreading unity. They are all hand-stamped with the letters “elm” on one of the metal charms. The other charm is also handmade, consisting of natural stone and wood to keep us grounded to what is real. The final charm is a feather, to remind us to look from the higher perspective when the walls feel like they are closing in. Awareness is key. You are stronger than you think. Each necklace is unique + varies slightly, offering a one-of-a-kind original design, just like each of us. Every necklace is perfectly imperfect on their own, yet can create a harmonious unity when together, just like we can, when we decide to take a stand for humanity. For every life that deserves to be treated fairly and with dignity. For every life that deserves an equal opportunity in the workplace or the education system. Every Life Matters. 🚲I’m rejoining the bike club. Who wants to go on a riding date? 🚲 . I rode her home from the grocery store, approximately 2.5 miles from my house and it surprisingly felt great on my recent sciatic pain. Just thought I’d take a moment to shout out to all of my warriors who are dealing with depression and anxiety even before the lockdown. For those among us, we have not suffered so much more than others simply because our physiological ability to handle stressors is ever-present. Meaning? We’re used to this shit. Welcome to the mind of the struggles of mental health. To the rest of the world, this journey is a rough one, but the terrain we know well. Let’s keep that in mind for those who normally don’t struggle with these things. They are the ones who may be having a hard time right now. We can all be better, braver, stronger with one decision at a time. Reach out to your friends. Let them know you’re thinking of them. We really are going to get through this, and the future is bright. Who knows, maybe the cure for all the world’s depression and anxiety is just around the corner, too.
