“Hey Gurl!” “Whatcha doin Gurl?”
That moment when you look at ya girlfriend and say this to her when you see her going through something or you just want to see her smile. That moment you want her to feel better and you know it’s all in your attitude, that she will respond back and may say “Gurl you crazy” or just start laughing. It’s not in long conversations but that one moment that is all that she needed, a friend that sees her and feels her and is willing to walk this with her while bringing her up. Hey Gurl is acknowledging her and letting her know you are right there in that moment with her. Hey Gurl lets her know that you love her. Whatcha doing Gurl, let’s her know that you see what she’s going through. It’s asking her what’s going on in her mind and and her heart. It’s asking her about what’s next or what action she is going to take. It affirms her by letting her know “I’m standing right here with you” and she doesn’t have to do it alone.
It is also, a greeting that taps into the innermost part of who she is and not just a simple hello. It is saying to her “Hi honey, how is your day and how are you doing?” It is that genuine question looking for a genuine response. You may laugh together and you may cry together and when it’s all over you look at her again and say “Hey Gurl, whatcha doin Gurl?” And it is in that moment that no matter what happens you can now get up and conquer whatever is next so “HEY GURL, WHATCHA DOIN GURL?”
